1-12 Tweed cabinet

By Sweetwater Customer on July 6, 2022

This is a good addition to even a custom deluxe! It subtley inhances tone and even pushes a little more air to achieve a larger sound without more volume.

So Happy I Pulled the Trigger on this!

I teamed this extension speaker with my recently purchased Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue and did not know what to expect. I took the stack down to Tiptonville, TN this last weekend for a weekend-long jam and was blown away. I play everything from rockabilly to traditional/modern country and this rig passed with flying colors. I was using an 82 Stratocaster and all sounded great! Another great purchase from Sweetwater,.

Classic looks and AMAZING tone!

I bought this cabinet, because: 1. It's a Fender Deluxe and 2. It's classy custom tweed finish. It's very versatile and dynamic. Full of the creamy highs and lows. It's a perfect 12" for anyone who is looking for one!

Classic large cab, great, full tone.

By TLD on November 24, 2021

A larger 1x12 closed cab with a great, full tone. While not on the more portable side of 1x12 cabs, I think it sounds better and more full than smaller cabs.

Closed back has a thicker tone with more lows and thump, is more directionally focused, and is less airy and bright than open backs. Whether that's for you is up to your ears.

Workmanship is good, no complaints. Unsurprisingly, it seems Fender has cab construction down.

Has a tele-style jack cup, which get a wiggly over time...I preemptively replaced mine with an Electrosocket. Note that the cab back can be a challenge (nightmare) to get off.

I've seen a couple reviews claim that this cab is entirely made of fiberboard (despite fiberboard being strongly favored in the hi-fi audio world, plywood seems more favored for guitar cabs, as it's lighter, and somewhat tougher. However, my 2018 tweed Hot Rod Deluxe cab has a plywood baffle panel, a plywood back, and only the frame (top, sides, bottom) are fiberboard. I appreciate the ply front and back, and see no problems with the use of MDF.

If you're gigging, you may want to add metal corner covers.
If you're plugging/unplugging the cab a lot, you may want to upgrade to an Electrosocket jack.
Otherwise, a classic, and a winner.

Buy a pair!!

Purchased this as an extension cabinet for the fender blues deluxe reissue tweed combo. Have also hooked up fender super champ,x2 head and a Bugera g5 infinium.head. excellent! The super champ cab uses the same eminence speaker, but this heavier cabinet sounds better I like to set up a stereo rig, going through a radial hotshot ABY . This cab for sound, the super champ cab for portability. Excellent service Sweetwater and Mason Bouvier! Thanks again!

Great Looking, Good Sounding Cab

By Kevin from Cincinnati on January 5, 2018 Music Background: Experienced

I bought this to match my lacquered Blues Deluxe and it added a very nice bass response the amp lacked alone. I found it also sounded very good with my assorted Bugera heads, especially the V55 (6L6) and V22 (EL84) both clean and distorted. Regardless, I got an itch to replace its competent Celestion Seventy 80 with a Jensen C12K to help tame the trebellious Fender. Hope this helps.

Fender Tweed Deluxe 1x12 cabinet

By Nick from NY on December 15, 2015

This is a good but not great cabinet. It is however a great value and I would recommend it for anyone needing an inexpensive solution to an extension cab. Its lightweight and portable. It plays nicely and sounds well with both a 65 Deluxe and a Marshall JMP 1watt head. Mine arrived with two small dings in the tweed. Not a big issue. (Maybe Fender is doing a light "aging" on their cabinets now (ha!)

Do not buy this as your only cab

By Brandon from Minnesota on October 1, 2021

This cab is designed to bring mid and lows to your mix. it is deep and muddy by itself. get an orange 112 instead trust me.
