Great Strings!

By K.T. Tyler from Baldwin Park, CA. on April 13, 2021 Music Background: Professional Musician of almost 50 Years

These strings are SO CLEAN, that you'll going to have your ears checked because you're hearing TOO MUCH OF YOUR TONE!!! (IF that's what you're looking for, TONE!!!)
Though I will admit that they don't go with ALL of my Basses since I play so many different styles of Music, when you DO choose them you CAN'T go wrong!!! I have quite a few Basses... I use these on 4 or 5 of them... And, not only do they added a "Look", they BLAST SOUND-WISE!!!
A little note, though... If you want them to play "easier", I tune them a whole step UP, play them for a few minutes, then tune them to your liking. I've found that they play lighter, and stay in tune a lot more because they're more dexterous and flexible. Plus, if you're a "Bender", you'll have less effort trying to do so!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!!

DR Black Beauties Coated Bass String

By Len from Richmond, VA on December 8, 2022 Music Background: Degreed w/20+yrs experience.

I have been playing at least an hour a day and gigging with these for 6 months now and there is NO loss of coating at all. The tone is beautiful and clean with lots of Mwah. I typically use a 40,55,75, 120 gauge and would highly recommend these as the round core provides identical suppleness. Even though it was not part of my decision the Black Coating really does look awesome!

Black Beauties are Beauties with a bit of a twang

By Easy E from Pocono Mountains on March 29, 2021 Music Background: Weekend Warrior

Boy they look cool. I replaced the keys to black and matched with these strings my bass looks really. The tone is definitely tinnier than I was used to but with a tweak here and there I've e-queued them to my liking. The coating is different but not in a bad way, just noticeable. The tone really cuts through the mix nicely, so my bass isn't buried within the rest of the sound from the band. If you like a smooth bass tone with lots of bass these strings aren't for you, but if you like to cut through the mix and get your thump on I'd give these a try.
