I'm a "retired" music teacher and now a sound healer/vibrational sound practioner. I purchased this set to use for certified healing drum circles. They are lightweight, sturdy and easy to transport to different locations. I appreciate the versatility of these drums. They can be played traditional style but can also double as handheld drums because the drumheads are removable. They are holding up well. In addition, adult clients love the look, feel and sound of these drums and are willing to experience the different types. They let their inhibitions down while playing these and at the same time, reduce their stress level, even though some have never played drums like these. The sound of the drums makes, even less experienced drummers, sound and feel good - like they "know what they are doing." Even as a first-time drummer. The tubano has the deepest voice, then the djembe is higher pitch and the timbau even higher. I actually also purchased the doumbek, which is the smallest size and the highest pitch. The beautiful pattern will make an eye catching splash around the drum circle. The smaller drums are comfortable and easy to hold under one arm. The heads are all 10". We liked all the tones when all four are played together and are looking forward to using the group with our next event.
