I must say for a controller that is labeled as basic this certainly isn't, I have used my friends Pioneer professional controllers & this Hercules Inpulse 500 is on par with them.

The layout is amazing with with everything at the center of the controller, the mic & additional channel input with dedicated high & low filters are a win.

Overall I am satisfied with the product.

This is far beyond what I expected. I DJ events and have been using a DDJ SB for about 5 years. Its starting to look a little beat up so I decided to get something that would look better in pictures. I would've gotten another SB but it's discontinued. I didn't get the Rev 1 because I didn't like the layout. I got this one thinking it was going to be similar to the SB. Wow was I wrong. This makes the SB, and the few other controllers I've used in the price range, feel like toys. The build quality and details are excellent. Little things that aren't obvious in the pictures like the feet have lights that give it an under glow, or the jog wheels being textured like vinyl. It really goes above and beyond. The knobs feel fantastic. I'm now a hercules fan

Has everything that i need, nothing that i do not need, only thing is is that the Fx is hooked to the filter Knobs ,but overall great controller

The impulse 500 is a good quality board price is firm and if had I'd buy another the 1 with the turning platters I'd love to check it out 1 day the fader kinda worn but still functional

weddings/grads/anniversaries, nearly every weekend - light rigs, CD's & cassettes(!), (tape players, Technics SL-P12's), various mixers, & an assortment of EV speakers throughout the 90's. I've done a dozen shows since, using mp3's and virtual DJ programs . . . but it never felt right with just a mouse & a screen. NOW . . .

. . . add-in the Hercules Impulse 500 and their DJUCED software - well, now I feel spoiled. I've only had it a few weeks, but I have done plenty of practice sessions leading to a successful reception-hall wedding. The controller worked great with my MAC (16GB RAM), the controls felt solid / responsive, and the software had even more than I needed (there is a STEMS feature that I turned "off" for now, but I'm looking forward to using).

I went into Sweetwater with the expectation of buying the similarly-priced Pioneer FLX4, but the feel and outputs of that model just didn't work for me (Sales Engineer, Josiah, made sure I had time on each and answered all my Q's).

Love the product. Only thing is trying to find a sliding case that slides. It is extremely frustrating and irritating how unnecessarily difficult it has been.

Not a beginner console. The tables could be a little more accurate, but other then that. This works very well and gets the job done!

Awesome machine for a great price. Huge bonus if you got the free Serato Pro! Bought it back in July and the bonus Serato Pro was a wise choice. Hope they bring back the same deal soon. I also bought Hercules Monitor 5 speakers from another retailer and I hope SW adds them. They sound really good paired with the Inpulse 500 controller. I was very impressed by the build quality for both products. I'll definitely check out more Hercules gear in the future. Coming from old school Technics SL1200 user I was pleasantly surprised how much fun this little machine is. It's nothing like spinning records but you could still scratch and get down on the plastic jog wheels pretty well. The faders, knobs and pads feel nice. Curious about what the proprietary input in the back is for (supposedly an upgrade outboard gear connectivity down the line). I highly recommend Hercules Inpulse 500. Peace

This piece of equipment has been the most fun I've had in a long time when it comes to DJing. The pieces feel great, the build quality is phenomenal, the feedback on most of the buttons is perfect, and works extremely well with a lot of DJ programs. Been using VirtualDJ with it and nothing bad to say. The only thing I wish they would've done is made the tempo slider a little finer or bigger since I have to use the sync button a lot more than I thought. Still definitely worth $...!!
