Active 2-Channel DI-Box/Splitter With Phantom Power, 3-position Input Attenuator, and Internal Battery

The Behringer Ultra-DI DI20 Active 2-Channel DI-Box/Splitter can convert two separate unbalanced 1/4" inputs into two balanced XLR outputs. Need a signal splitter? The DI20 does that too. Whether you're a keyboardist, guitarist, or bassist, you'll marvel at the flexibility this little box gives you. Feed it two mono signals, a stereo signal, or a split signal feeding two separate amps. You also get a groundlift and a 3-position input attenuator to school unruly signals - so you can even connect it to your guitar amp's speaker output! The Behringer Ultra-DI DI20 is cool.

A total steal

By Alexander H. from Brooklyn, NY

This DI box is incredible. Stereo capability, relatively lightweight, yet tanky enough to survive scratches and drops. Definite recommend—it's allowed me to expand my stereo guitar rig with ampless capability and has saved me in a number of situations.

Oh the HISS! (Updated Review = Operator Error!)

By tOm V. from Pacific NW
Music Background: Pro-Am-Hack!

It's always SO humbling when one has to admit they're wrong; Hmm, perhaps I didn't read the manual thoroughly? (Or at all.) Yes, I was using the DI incorrectly - OPERATOR ERROR. What did I do, you ask? Read on (I hope you get a laugh, and coffee shoots out your nose!): Thinking the LINK option allowed for (2) 1/4" TRS IN (the cable from our tablet: typical Mini-Jack to (2) 1/4" L/R TRS Jacks) going to a single XLR OUT on Ch 2. (I also had a 20db pad engaged.) Sheesh, the DI was SO HISSY (like a white noise bedtime machine thing)! Calling Lucino at Sweetwater, I requested a return, and, of course, "No problem," (It's Sweetwater after all!). Before sending it back, and reading (again!) the reviews of those who loved it, I thought, "Am I doing something wrong? I'll RTFM a bit more." OH MY! "I am such a dork!" The LINK option is a SPLITTER, so that's a 1/4" IN, and TWO XLRs OUT. I had it all wrong! I took it out of LINK mode, connected the tablet with a single 1/4" TRS to the BALANCED (Ch2) side, set PAD to 0, and voila - NO MORE HISS! Wow. RTFM. (In my defense, the manual could use an edit - it's clear, but not that clear.) Summary: This is great DI for the price, and hope this helps solve your noise issues with the Ultra-DI D120!

The Best $ I ever spent, ever!

By Patrick O. from Whittier, CA
Music Background: Professional Musician - 30 years

Behringer makes basic stuff that works. I'm going to pick up another. It's small, sturdy but still lightweight. I sound like an advertisement. With our PA, all instruments go direct to a fancy 32-channel digital board, but for some reason my bass player's amp direct output was was distorted. Enter the Ultra-DI DI20! Set it to link mode so that we could split the signal from her bass to her amp and to the board. It's like a little miracle-worker. It stacks up against my fancy DI boxes costing 10X as much. It's half the weight/size of single channel Samson active DI, half the price and has triple the features. Love that it automatically switches off the battery when connected to phantom power. Like other good DIs, it smooths out the offensively harsh signal of digital keyboards. I'll likely pick up another or two as spares, simply because of the features and low cost.

Works like a champ

By Patrick O. from Whittier, CA
Music Background: Professional musician. Live sound engineer

I had one stolen out of my rig a while back, and finally replaced it when I had to take advantage of split mode coming out of a very fussy bass guitar. The box is utterly transparent. I don't hear *any* noise. It's nice to run the output into my fancy Behringer 32 channel digital board so that we can smooth out the signal. It also shines as a piano DI, taming the harsh signal from most keyboards. The triple bonus is that I can plug my wireless guitar receiver into it no problem. You can't beat the price. For live shows, it is indiscernible from other boxes I have costing 10x as much. The only dislike is the battery compartment, but whatever, I'm almost always running phantom power on stage. Get two. They're not built like a tank, as some of the more expensive DIs are, so I wouldn't use it as a wedge to angle a speaker.

Very impressed with the quality, unbeatable price

By Jeff R. from Tucson, AZ

I don't play acoustic guitar but I do run 2 large open mics. It works great! I use this for the acoustic players and rarely do I need more than 2 inputs. My mixer has phantom power so I even save on batteries. I highly recommend this product as it is well made and sturdy.

One Tuff Little Box

By Uncle B. from Kentwood, Louisianna
Music Background: 48 years experienced and still learning!

I recently order the Behringer DI20 direct box from Sweetwater. I've always had good luck with Behringer products, they are reasonably priced and work well. I was asleep when the package arrived, but my 80lb. black lab, Pooh-dog, accepted the delivery for me (hope the mail lady is OK). When I found my package, scattered all over the back yard, there was not a piece of it bigger than the palm of my hand. Except for the DI box, the blister pack it was in had teeth marks in the plastic, but the DI box was in good shape. When I hooked it up everything worked, and it sounded pretty good on my PA system. So, I ordered another one just like it. By the way, Chuck, Pooh-dog said Thanks for the candy, she really enjoyed it!
