ordered these strings and they are awesome they sound really good and really heavy because they are heavy gauge strings i would recommended them and they make my fishman fluence pickups sound really heavy and i would get these strings again

If you play alternate tunings at all, try these.

I typically use D'addario 10-59, on a Schecter Blackjack SLS C-7 which has a 26.5 neck. Which are totally fine, but at the same time I was wishing I could be just a wee bit rougher with my pick attack without getting fret buzz. On the other hand, most other string sets that are thicker than 10-59 I find to be completely overkill. Often TOO thick, and you lose tightness in your notes. Gave this Dunlop set a try and boom. Found the happy medium. My main tuning is a half step down and I often go to Drop G# and these are perfect. You can dig into these without feeling like you have to hold back yet they retain their tightness and clarity in sound. Not too thin, not too thick.

Awesome Guitar strings

I've purchased these strings for my guitar a few months ago and they sound really good. I normally use d'addario strings for my guitar and I came across these strings one day. I've purchase them out of curiosity and they sound phenomenal. I'm really amazed on how good they sound. these strings have a nice warm sound with clear highs when playing clean. and they sound nice and heavy when using distortion. they sound great for recordings and live performances. I would definitely would purchase them once again If I ever needed a new set. and I would purchase them for if I buy my next guitar. definitely worth checking out if you want to try something new.

Solid Tone

By Hampton on March 27, 2017

It's really hard to Recommend strings because they're so subjective, but I've slowly started putting these in every single one of my guitars. 6 and 7 string. They break in quick, and have a very consistent tone through their life.

GET SOME!

Love Dunlop strings!! The Heavy 7's are pure thunder! I so dig a fresh set of these on my axe! Super sustain, bright crisp response, these things seem to have a extra bit of "attack" I think esp. when paired to a hot hum bucker! Heavy tones no doubt like most 7 string axes these things are made for metal!! However, grab that clean channel, maybe stomp up some compression, then chorus, switch to the neck p/u… can you hear that? :) Those "shimmery" cleans just melted the face right off that single coil tone snob!

All around good strings

By NuCusherz from Marble Falls,TX on December 25, 2013 Music Background: 6 years of Guitar playing

These are probably the best 7 string set Ive tried outside of EB and Daddario, super comfortable to play, stays in tune greatly, and has a nice growl through your amp. You can do just about most of the basic drop tunings on these, B flat standard, Drop A, even A standard! Its tops for sure in 7 string standard lol. Im sticking with these for awhile, definately an upgrade from using 56-10 from most companies that they make.

Suprising value

By CG on September 12, 2019

I've played Ernie Ball for a while but wanted to try something else on my 7. The gauge choices in this set are quite playable for anything from C to A standard on a 25.5 inch scale. These required minimal play-in (I prefer not to stretch by hand) and have retained tuning well in the 3 weeks since I put them on. I use dunlop 65 ultraglide on them after playing, typically an hour a day, and I don't feel like they need replacing yet -- typically I'd be replacing my normal set by now. I personally wish the middle strings were a bit brighter, but the low end response is very defined so I'm satisfied. I'm particularly surprised at how twang-y they can be -- tremolo picking near the bridge is great. Cleans on the neck pickup are impressive, if a touch dark for my taste. Overall very impressive, considering how affordable these are. I prefer the sound of EB cobalt, but they're twice the price of these. These will likely be my default 'practice set'. I prefer individually packaged strings (e.g., Ernie Ball) as it's easier to organize your replacement strings, but if you're doing a full swap then set-packaged (as these are) is fine.

Perfect for drop A, but not low tunings

By Chris from CA on December 8, 2022

These are perfect for drop A on my JBW27. They are a bit floppy for anything below that. The marketing said they were good for low tuning, but if they cannot go under normal drop tuning on a baritone they are not for that. I bet the Korn or Trivium set would be what most people would want.

The strings feel nice and I would get more dunlop if they had the sizes I wanted.
