A great feeling pedal!
I initially was not sure about this. Decided to give it a try. After one practice, I am impressed. I feel the sound out of this pedal gives me more warmth than the Danmar felt beater that I have been using for years. Feeling the leather rebound almost feels more organic. Its more of a softer bounce, but feels great. I am still curious to see how long the leather face lasts with my playing.

I gave these beaters a try after seeing them in a Kenny Sharretts video. I'm switching from the plastic side of a DW two way beater and these sound and feel so much better to me. The sound is fuller, deeper, and richer. The feel is still firm, but less bounce than a plastic beater. I enjoy them very much and highly recommend them. The reason for four stars is the price. They cost twice as much as a standard beater. The construction does appear quite robust and high quality though. We'll see how long they last. Perhaps they'll eventually be worthy of a five star rating.
Fantastic beater
I purchased this beater (leather) as well as several others namely for recording purposes. I have a heavy foot but was also looking for more weight for a bit more throw & speed. What I love about this beater is not just the weight but the balanced mass of it- and it has a perfect sound to my taste. Plenty of articulation but a solid heavy punch as well. It's not click-y but has a clear articulation & serious heft. And I'm using it on a 14x18 DW kick!
