Pearl Roadster Multi-Core Gas Lift Drum Throne
Pearl Roadster Multi-Core Gas Lift Drum Throne Reviews
Looking for luxury? The Pearl Roadster D1500RGL gas-lift drum throne's Multi-Core seat top consists of several layers of variable density foam to supply the right support where it's most needed. The D1500RGL sits on lightweight aluminum struts (rather than legs) to give you solid stability at a reduced carry weight. Height adjustment is accomplished in seconds using the D1500RGL's gas-lift pneumatic system, which makes settings recall a breeze. Even better, the Roadster D1500RGL accepts the optional DTBR1535 fully adjustable backrest (not included), which suits this throne to just about any player preference and setting on earth. Searching for comfort? You'll find it in the Pearl Roadster D1500RGL drum throne from Sweetwater.
A good throne, but it's no Roc-N-Soc
I have a Roc-N-Soc throne (nitro gas, original saddle) and it's the most comfortable throne I've ever used. Recently though I've been trying to lighten my hardware bag so I thought I'd give the Pearl a try. Honestly, it doesn't feel much lighter at all, and the seat isn't as sturdy, it seems to rock around on the post a bit. It's also not as comfortable. I can sit on the Roc-N-Soc for hours, but not so with the Pearl, I'll need to stand up after a while. It's a good throne overall, fairly comfy and looks nice. I wouldn't turn my nose up at it, but it's not a Roc-N-Soc.

Comfortable But Constant Repair
Amazing throne
Love this throne, one of the best things I've purchased in years for my drumming. I'm also near 300lbs and it gives amazing comfort and stability.
Great upgrade to the original Roadster
I have been playing on the Pearl Roadster D-1000N for many years...I have two of them that go between rehearsals and gigs. When I saw that pearl was upgrading the throne I said...why not, so will I. This Multi-Core seat is the most comfortable thing I have had the pleasure of sitting on in my career, so much so that when I went back to my old Roadster, the seat felt quite hard. The throne also feels really sturdy while banging away on the drums. No movement or swinging of the seat and feet stay firmly in place.
I have no complaints about this throne. I know that every drummer has his or her preference but I would definitely give this a try if you are in the market for a new throne.
