very malleable pedal sounds
great pedal. You can really hone in on the sound you want with this pedal, and the choices are pretty much endless
T-Rex Creamer
Great small pedal if you just want subtle reverb so you can "set it and forget it". I primarily use the Spring setting with reverb at 9 o'clock and delay at 3 o'clock. Has tone adjustment, if you need it - I just leave it at 12 o'clock. Sounds very natural and organic - no sign of digital harshness. Very quiet - I didn't notice any noise and unlike many reverb pedals, it does not not alter your original dry signal. Would not recommend it for surf as it has no "drip" and it is not designed for wild space effects either. The Room setting is very much like spring, but with more bass. Hall is a large auditorium sound which I find useful occasionally.
Great reverb. One con
Pro: sounds really good on all 3 settings. I'm very picky about verb although digital is very convincing. I own multiple custom amps with dwell mix tone spring tanks. The sound and control on this pedal get it done for almost every genre.
The only con: it has a slight volume boost of about 3-4db that is definitely noticeable if engaged or disengaged. If it's always on or you are good at toe tapping between sounds you can set up your channels accordingly.
Good basic reverb
Just what I needed. Not alot of bells and whistles but good sounding basic reverb.
Small Pedal, Great Sound!
First thing I noticed was how small the pedal is - takes up less room on my busy pedal board. The pedal is quiet, sitting last in the chain (no unwanted noise or hum when turned off). The three reverb effects each cover a lot of ground, so it's easy to dial in whatever amount of Room, Spring or Hall you're looking for. Each mode sounds pretty authentic, too. And, as usual, it was fun to track my order - from packing it up to the carrier's delivery was only two days! That always amazes me.
Very Nice
This pedal does not give you a lot of options compared to other cheaper priced reverb pedals, but what it does, it does very well.
The reverb sounds great and does not change your tone at all. On the downside, it's made in China and has a printed circuit board, so we'll see how well it holds up.
Overall, I really like it. Just wish the price was a little lower to make it comparable to other pedals (HOF).
T-Rex Creamer Reverb
This is a great reverb pedal. Went through a couple different pedals before I finally landed on this one to provide some reverb to an amp I have that doesn't have built-in reverb. This one really took the cake! Very accurate and wonderful sounding spring reverb emulation for sure...you won't be disappointed...sounds virtually identical to the spring reverb in my Mesa/Boogie amp...possibly better. The Hall and Room reverbs are also wonderful. The pedal is quiet, simple to use, yet has plenty of control options to shape your reverb into whatever sound you're looking for. Top all that with a pedal that seems to be made extremely well and is wonderfully small compared to virtually every other pedal on my pedalboard, and you have a winner. If you need reverb for your rig...especially if you like the sound of spring reverb (or Hall or Room for the matter I guess)...this is your pedal. ...and it won't take up more space than it's good for!
All The Reverb I need
Great sounding pedal, my music doesn't require any crazy sounding reverb what this pedal offers is perfect for me!
The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the nobs partially cover the lettering, which doesn't effect the function of it.
Nothing special?
For one, this pedal is NOT made in Denmark. That's a borderline lie on the part of T-Rex. It says it on the back of the pedal and on the box this pedal is made in China. Past that, the pedal is really light weight, and the switch is very odd (It has to be pushed all the way in, unlike any other pedal ever). I think the sound is good, especially on the spring setting. I don't like room reverbs in general, so I won't comment on it. The hall setting is a little bit dark and woofy but I can get past it. In all it's just okay. The TC HOF is probably better, but I haven't tried it, while the Boss RV-6 has many more options and without a doubt more durable.
Good reverb, but boosts gain.
The quality of the reverb is actually great; however, when engaged, it boosts signal gain rather significantly. In a very controlled studio situation, it can be usable, but I would never use it on stage.
Low Quality
Q: When I say low quality, am I talking about the build quality or the sound quality? A: Yes. There is a very noticeable volume boost when the pedal is engaged. The reverb algorithms are among the worst I have ever heard. The knobs were very low quality and would stick badly along their throw even though the pedal was brand new, I don't think I will try another T Rex product unless it is from before they sold the company and moved everything to China. I remember the European product using low quality pots as well, but at least they turned. There are already Chinese brands like TC, Behringer etc.... that make much better products. Honestly the Joyo Ironman reverb completely destroys this. Why is there stuff still priced as if they are boutique. Caline is more boutique than this.
