Bought it used and I am initially impressed by the Marshall presets. The JCM 800 presets sounds a lot like my original 50w. Very impressed. Gets loud and sounds good. I think it definitely worth it for at home applications and I could even see doing some gigging with the larger models. Con: cheaply made but not surprised. Nice job Marshall.

while this is a very versitile amp for me, i do have a few gripes about it. First, the amp does not take pedals very well, they sound very strange, even on clean settings the problem persists.

This is the first modeling amp i have ever bought and I mainly use only the built-in presets and I find they are great once you have tweaked them a little great little amplifier i highly recommend it

I originally purchased a demo but had an issue... Brandon and Sweetwater were on it immediately and replaced it with a fresh unit, no additional cost to me. I am in awe of her capability.

This would have gotten 5 stars but the amp didn't come with a booklet or brochure of the different settings or instructions that I thought it would. It did come with several different language papers detailing the overall setup but that was all. As a novice guitar player it DOES have a lot of different sound settings that make unique sounds and styles that make playing much more fun. No regrets!

This is a simple review. This Marshall digital combo amp is wonderful and provides an endless number of effects, delivers wonderful tone, clear sound , and is easy to experiment with.

It interfaces very well with all of my electric guitars and helps me get excellent performance from my pickups and configurations.

Terrific bang for the buck.

I have it in my upstairs office . I have four of my favorite guitars there… and I can plug in in a second and make great music in a flash.

Yeah… I love it. There is nothing I would seek to improve. It's just a great small amp.

I travel extensively with my job, so this little hotel rig is perfect for my needs.
I had been using a CODE 50, this is much more useful.

Purchased this amp from Sweetwater about 3 weeks ago after doing a fair amount of research. I bought this amp for one reason only, to get a** kicking saturated cranked hard rock Marshall tones at low volumes.
When I initially received the amp, I was disappointed with it's sound and considered returning the amp. But, I kept playing with it and learning its features and realized my disappointment was based not on the actual capabilities of the amp but on the poor sound quality of many of the presets, many of which to my ear sound way less than stellar. They say there is a use for every type of tone but I think whoever created some of these presets was really pushing it.
Once I started treating it like any normal amp and just simply adjusted the controls so it sounded good to my ear, I was able to dial in some really excellent tones.
In fact, within a few minutes of learning the controls, I had an excellent early 80's EVH hard rock tone that put a smile on my face, harmonics just jumped out of the guitar with little effort. Even if that was the only sound I could get from the amp, I would keep it, it sounds that good.
I installed the Marshall app on my Iphone 12 and it makes it really easy to make adjustments, I've never had an issue with the Blue Tooth connectivity although I've read other's have. Haven't had a need to use the Marshall website on my computer yet, nor have I used the amp to record anything, so I can't speak to those features.
The pre amp and power amp models as well as the built in effects sound very good to my ear, and just like regular amps and effects pedals, if you try, you can dial in some less pleasant tones but set them appropriately and they will sound great.
There are some great clean tones in this amp as well, although to be honest that's not why I bought the amp.
Amp sounds great with strat single coils and humbuckers.
I haven't used all of the pre amps, power amps, and speaker configurations yet, I haven't really needed to as I was able to quickly create several excellent sounds and saved them as presets and that's what I've used. I do look forward to finding some time to explore the other sounds the amp has available.
One thing I noticed is that the firmware version on my amp is 1.4.5, which is apparently the latest version. The presets in the amp did not match exactly those shown in the phone app, but as soon as blue tooth paired to the amp they changed to those in the amp itself. If for some reason you liked some of the 1.4.4 or earlier version presets, you could simply copy the settings from the app prior to BT pairing and adjust the amp to match.
All in all, for about $, you are getting a lot of amp that can sound excellent if you take just a little bit of time to learn how to operate it. If the thing died (outside of warranty), I'd buy another one.

I have played guitar for many years and own a 100 watt mid 70s superlead. This thing sounds just like it but I can play at ANY volume!! It also has a USB so you can direct into your DAW. These people saying you have to mic it are mental you do not have to mic ANYTHING just plug in you code to a PC and open up your DAW then feed your computer a line to the sound board boom! No mic needed and sounds GREAT! Plus you can record your performance. This amp sounds great by itself but when you use the USB function it unlocks a whole universe of possible sounds, tones and effects. I could say more but why? Just buy one of them or do like I am and buy all 3 of them for specific reasons. I like using my 100 watt head at home but the 50 is good for small clubs and having a 25 is great for less space like trips in hotel rooms. If you do not have one of these yet your missing out! They also can be used to record/play bass and keys through. Seriously it is awesome! Why would they not put USB on ALL OF THEIR AMPS??!!

I purchased this in 2016 and haven't liked it ever since. Presets are horrible. If you change between them the volume can go from a whisper to a deafening roar. The updates helped with the feedback.

Marshall has out done themselves with this new amp 25 watts is enough to blow the walls down in a studio but big enough to gig with and mic it through the PA system and away you go even in large venues. If you are well known enough to play a 30,000 seat venue yeah buy a stack of 100 Watt Marshalls . With 100 presets and 7 parameters to infinitely set including 8 amp styles and as many speaker cabinets you can spend hours or weeks exploring all the combinations. This is a world away from dirty and clean and a built in reverb play techno to disco and everything else in between there is a sound for everyone. As usual built well and kudos to Marshall the father of LOUD

Head, cabinet and effects rack all in 1. Bought it on a hunch. With foot controller. Amazed by the sound quality. And loud if you need it to be. It's a little bit of a learning curve but once you dial it in, nice! The lag is fixed by building your presets using common heads. I get best tonal results with the 112 cab. 10 banks of 3 with the footswitch allows you to literally build 10 different Marshall amp configurations. And save presets with effects on or off when you select them. Bank mode on the controller allows you to turn each effect on or off individually. I'd recommend this code 25 for beginners for sure. But it's a grab and go unit that delivers on the fly regardless. Again, the foot controller unlocks the full potential of this amp. I bet the 100 is boomy. Hi Pat!!! Thanks again...

Good sounding Amp for sure. A couple of things set this apart from other practice amps
1. When connected via USB it acts as a speaker to the computer which other practice amps do not
offer.
2. The Phone App is quite good via Blutooth to change the presets. I have an Iphone 7plus and had no
issues at all connecting and changing presets
3. Tone is good coming from the 25watt model. I've heard it's better than even the 50 but trust me it
gets plenty load
4. There are 2 sites to download presets from and I actually like the Non Marshall Site Better than the Marshall Site. I find it amazing you can totally control the presets from a webpage. And also change preset setting from a web page.
5. Get the footswitch even if you are a duffer like me allows you to turn on and off effects for a preset for up to 3 effects (which is plenty). A little pricey at $69.00 but worth it

I so wish Fender's Mustang GT followed what Marshall has done here especially with the footswitch.
I like Fender tones better than Marshall but this amp was so well done I had to choose it over the Fender Mustang GT.

I've always been a Marshall and Fender freak, always playing a valve amp, and since I've been playing for 50 plus years that's a lot of amps. About 15 years ago I decided that a Marshall head with two 1960 cab's were too much to lug around. I decided to down size and to experiment with different named amps at the same time, from Egnater to H&K to my latest Mesa Boogie Mk-V-35, all in which are valve, using 1x12 cab combinations. But with some of the smaller venue's we've been playing lately I started experimenting with the digital amps, from blackstar, to Orange, to the Vox VT series, and finally This Marshall code 25. Let me start off by saying this; don't let the size of this little amp fool you, and I mean LITTLE, "Check the dimensions." It's powerful, the 10" speaker is clear and the sounds are as authentic as I've EVER heard a digital amp be to a valve amp, especially Marshall. It's easy to program and stores a lot of sounds so you can be creative, and has every effect you would ever need right inside. I do recommend getting the foot switch with it if you gig and YES, the foot switch is simple and fast so you can go from clean to scream quick and return just as fast, plus you can store a lot more sounds. I can see now that I'm gonna be using this amp more and more in the shows we do, possibly selling a lot of my higher end gear in the future. there's no line out so you will have to mic it or use a direct box. I guess what comes around goes around, started with Marshall and will be ending with Marshall. Let me also say this, you can buy your gear wherever you choose but for me It's only Sweetwater. Why? Because they stand behind what they sell. There sales staff and tech support are the best and you can count on your stuff getting there quick and safely packed so it's perfect when you open it up. Also, if your a guitar freak as I am, you can bet that the guitar is already set up pretty much spot on. So there's my 2 cents, take it or leave it, I'm just trying to save you wasted time going to other places for you gear when you can start here and end here.

I have a Code 25 and it sucks with every Od pedal no matter what settings, no matter what specs, presets, Pre Amp off, Natural Pre Amp, Power Amp off, Cabs off, different guitars with different pickups and the conclusion is IT DOES NOT TAKE PEDALS at all! Its a shame, should've bought a Katana or even a Fender Mustang, stay away from this, unless it's your first amp. Everyone says it's like a Marshall Museum In a Box, but it's not! Just a beginner's amp for sure, all digital so to me it sounds like any guitar VST out there, but at least with some VST you can load some pro IRs for Cabs so it's worse than VSTs. Bluetooth crashes constantly, and it doesn't work with Android phones and tablets either, do some research and get yourself a better amp!

This sounds like a good recording of a real Marshal amp, and several other famous amps. The panel layout is simple to navigate. You don't really need the manual to adjust sounds and save them. It's very lightweight and small which makes it perfect for most real-world gigs where volume must be low. The ten-inch speaker is adequate for reproducing critical low frequencies. That makes it sound like a bigger amp, just quieter.

The closed-back design helps control dispersion. Despite its ROCK n ROLL heritage and British DNA, it also makes a decent Jazz amplifier. The reverbs and compressor let you emulate good clean tones, not just raucous ROCK tones. If you crank it at least half-way, then it starts to "feel" somewhat like a big-boy amp, especially in smaller hard rooms. So it's a versatile little box for practice, teaching or small venue gigs.

There is one peculiar problem with these: The digital electronics are sensitive to cell-phone tracking signals. If your cell phone is too close to the amp, you might hear "clicking" or "chirping" at times. Thankfully, my sales engineer Brian LeMert was aware of that and instantly knew what that intermittent problem was. The solution is simple and free... Keep cell phones away from the amp.

Other than that little "hiccup", I can recommend this. It's versatile, affordable, has authentic rock tones, respectable bass response plus enough effects to cover most popular styles.

The bluetooth is a bit buggy, but after messing with it awhile - it got better. However, having all these different amp models doesn't solve the big elephant in the room. The modeling isn't up to par. If you compare it with GuitarRig 5 for instance, this sounds like a digital toy facsimile. Cleans are fine - but anything with gain sounds fizzy, compressed, and filled with pre-amp artifacts. Sounds bad enough as a cheap practice amp I would stop playing my Ibanez Jem through it. However, clean channels - with my Gibson ES or classical Yamaha sound just fine - but almost any amp can do that. The bluetooth backing track system is a bit of an issue as well, as there is no separate volume for the backing track out of the bluetooth device. You then have to turn your presets volume way down and crank up the master. It changes the sound of every preset. Your mp3s have to be local too, so if you're on iTunes Match or Apple Music, you have to download. Marshall support has been good for the bluetooth questions. Thank you Sweetwater for being good about an exchange for a Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 18. Enough of this digital stuff!

A head, cabinet, effects system and midi controller all in one if you get the footswitch at the same time. It"s amazing how you can build your own rig to your tastes and sample many of Marshalls most iconic products in one little and light weight box. It"s 25 watts but don"t be fooled. The code 25 is loud if you need it to be. From crisp cleans to driving heavy metal complete with touchy pick attack, pinch harmonics and singing sustain. The feedback is really predictable and controllable for added artistry if that"s your cup of tea. A special thanks to the very intelligent and knowledgeable Patrick Weaver for bringing this wonderful little box to my home. I feel guilty how much you get for the $ price point.
Completely astounding!!!

Man, when I opened the Sweetwater box, chomped on my candy and pulled this little amp out, I couldn't help but think...I NEED THE CODE 50!

Plugged it in, plugged in my Ric 330 and started to go through the presets. Then I got to Preset 13. Lucky 13. I was instantly transported to the stage at Wembley, slamming power chords in front of 100,000 screaming. The Marshall tones are there, the Fender Tones are close, and I'm close to creating an Orange OR120 tone. 96% of the built in tones are usable, and tweaking them is a snap. Was able to connect to to my PowerBook via USB to update the firmware and to my iPhone via Bluetooth to run the Marshall Gateway software.

The reason I bought this amp was to have something more portable than my AC. My goal is to get out and jam more, and meet players of different styles. This amp offers unmatched technology, versatility, and portability. It also has a headphone jack. This amp CRUSHES Amplitube. Haven't brought it over to my drummer's house, but I'm guessing that unless you play with JOHN HENRY BONHAM himself, it's got the minerals to keep up.

Oh yeah, you can stream music from your phone on it.

Great little amp. Lots of power in a tiny box. All your familiar Marshall tones are there. Bluetooth has a few bugs, but having that feature is cool. So many options that you"ll want to use the app as opposed to viewing it all through the tiny window on the amp.

Very pleased with the Code 25 amp and the prompt service from Sweetwater. The Marshall Code 25 is so versatile with all the presets and very easy to change and control with the Gateway Bluetooth app. The demo videos of the product on the Sweetwater web site was very helpful

I bought it because you could control it with a phone or tablet. It did ok for about a month. The not worse and worse over time. Now it will not pair will ANY of my 4 devices. And with out the app is is not easy to use.
As far as the presets. It sounds like a toy. No better than my $99 zoom from 4 years ago.

Wow! Lots to work with. Power in 14 lb. Great for my home jam time. I'm 71. This is what I need. Usually I play acoustic with my old buddies, but at home I can discover my own sounds. Pre-sets alone are fabulous. Many clean sounds that rival the classic overdrives, which, BTW, sound very realistic. Definitely could use on stage. If I were a young player, I'd go with a bigger model. But all the parameters are there in every size, so they are all fun!

Love this amp and a lot of bang for the buck!

I got this little guy thinking id be able to turn it up more then my older amp, I was so wrong. For its size this thing cranks out some volume.

Love the bluetooth capabilities for adjustments with my phone and the multiple effects. Too bad some of those effects tend to bleed occasionally especially the distortion. Perhaps a firmware fix could be the answer. The speaker isn't all that great, 4 ohm loudspeaker, not a guitar speaker IMO. The tone from this speaker is really not that good and could be much better. At least to my taste. The speaker looks cheap compared to a Celestion of the same size. So I replaced the speaker with a Celestion G10N-40 40W 10 Guitar Speaker Regular 8 Ohm.

Definitely an improvement, the advertised sound is exactly what they claim it to be. "This classy 10 is a true 'modern vintage' guitar speaker, that delivers an exceptionally well balanced tone that has real Celestion pedigree. The G10N-40 is characterised by satisfyingly deep lows that are complemented by sweet and clear upper mids and an articulate, well-defined top end. Loaded into small combos, the G10N-40 articulates a detailed and warm clean sound, and its balanced response means this versatile speaker is still able to deliver true British grind when pushed to the limit." Sweetwater doesn't offer this speaker, I think they might want to look into it.

I would have sent this back and just kept the Marshall MG15CFX that I ordered about the same time. The MG15 did have better tone. I just ran out of time so I replaced the speaker instead.

So only a 1.5 due to the bleeding (which seemed to have stopped after I replaced the speaker, time will tell) and the really bad tonal qualities.

Everything from mild to wide in a light package. You can carry your guitar and amp in one arm and leaves the other for beer. Pefect for practice and small gigs

The amp has some great, useful presets right off the bat and they can be tweaked to the tiniest detail if you ever get the crappy Bluetooth app to connect, or Marshall's idiotic web-based patch editor, or if they ever create an editor for Mac (I haven't tried the PC-based version but I have no reason to think it's half-decent)... even with the foot controller, things crap out - you save a preset to A2, it saves to both A1 and and A2 and overwrites whatever you had on A1 before.

The presets are good an useful, although some walking sack of complexes is guaranteed to whine how his $5000 vintage amp sounds bette than the one similar preset on this $200 amp... you get the idea how moronic that is.

Long story short, Marshall engineers are complete, useless idiots when it comes to anything but amps, but the amp they got right. 3.5 stars for the presets, -1.5 for the disastrous software.

This small Marshall rocks & even more. So many settings for sounds. It may be small but it's loud!(if you want it to be). What a remarkable amp! Sweetwater rocks as always. Defined pleased with this bad boy!

My first purchase from Sweetwater. I was an avid player 40+ years ago and wanted a good practice amp with effects. WOW! I originally selected a different amp - Chris at Sweetwater suggested I take a look at this alternative. This is my first modern amp so I really have nothing to compare it to, but I'm amazed by the technology in this amp for the price. Many thanks to Chris and Sweetwater. Glad to be a new customer.

Just a wonderful little amp to play with at home, in the studio, small gigs, things like that. Feed music in via Bluetooth, or mini-plug, or USB. Update / manage via USB & Bluetooth. Play soft, loud, real loud, or seriously going to hurt your ears LOUD.

I've played 46 years, had more than a dozen amps, all name brands, and true to it's heritage - this Marshall is the best of all of them. And make no mistake - it SOUNDS like a Marshall. But if you & me was to get quiet and be honest about it, the best thing is its versatility. This lil guy can do pretty much any sound all by itself - so all you need is this thing & a guitar. Seriously. That covers it. Had I known that a year ago I'd have about $ I don't have anymore because I spent it on gear this replaces. Sure, I can still use it, but... don't really need it - and that's amazing. Believe all the people who say that - it's true.

My son who is an experienced guitarist recommended this amp and I love the flexibility of sounds it creates.

For such a little, lightweight amp, it is unbelievable. From Classic Rock to Metal, it delivers. Getting sounds that could only be achieved by a Marshall 1/2 stack at least. Roll back on your volume on your guitar, and you get that sweet tube feel of semi breakup tones. I used tube amps throughout the '80's and '90's. This thing is close to tube reproduction, if not spot on. Yes you have to be able to dial it in. If you can dial in tone then this may not be for you. If you know how to tweak amps, love Marshall tone, I don't think you can go wrong with this amp.

I've been told that I play a tad on the loud side (Seriously don't know why) and so to keep my lovely wife's hearing together, I inquired about an amp I could use with headphones and jam tracks. Ikes recommended this rather than a divorce lawyer. I have tried other options and have always defaulted back to the amp. This amp is amazing. It covers a whole slew of Marshall history and most of the tone are very useable right from the start (I must confess, maybe they go overboard on reverb and delay at times, but you can edit that)...it is inspiring...

First of all, I have owned every kind of amp you can imagine including Line 6 (both amps and pedals) The sound is great. Its very convincing. I am amazed at how compact it is. Its barely a little larger than a 10 inch speaker. I am using Bluetooth to control it. That is a great feature. In fact it was the selling point for me. I am still experimenting with the 10 inch version but I have a clean power amp with a 12 inch Celestion in it and will run it as a pre amp to that and also a Tube amp with a 4 12 so I will give that a whirl also. But just speaking from having just cracking open the box and plugging in. I was blown away very quickly. I am glad I got this. I will hang on to my Tube amp also but for starters it will make a great practice amp and maybe even a recording option. I dont like having to mic up cabs so having some thing I can go direct to my computer is a big plus. Mostly I bought it for a practice amp because you can control it from across the room with an iPad. Thats a real plus for me. I have a spine that has fractured in several places and getting up and walking across the room bending over and using my blurry vision to try and control a pedal or an amp is very difficult. This is so cool!!!!

This 10" combo is a beast in the studio, replacing multi-amp rentals on many recording projects. If a client seeks a genuine,classic Marshall sound, we nail it down with this before renting/requesting multiple amps. More times than not, the clients have foregone the extra rental fees because the CODE provides just what the doctor ordered. The Code series has really raised the bar on modelling amps, specific to Marshall tones; likewise,the new X-series Valvetronics VOX amp covers all non-Marshall tones effectively for us. The controls/knob configuration makes soooo much sense, Marshall stepped that up,too.

Perfect travel amp @ 11 lbs.

Saw this being demoed at Gearfest 16 and the sound absolutely blew me away! needless to say I bought this immediately and now almost 3 months later I still can't believe how good this little Amp sounds. Still having loads of fun playing with all the different sounds this thing can make, my favorite is #93 with a little gain low bass for that bright ear bleeding heavy metal sound that I crave and so love to play. I do own another Marshall costing 3+ times as much and I find myself using the Code 25 90% of the time.

The Bluetooth is pretty cool too but I personally like playing with the settings on the Amp itself.

The only con I can think of is that I don't use all the distortion pedals I have...

Definitely would purchase again and recommend this Marshall Code 25 Amp.

I love this so much I will be purchasing at least the Code 50 (due to be in stock very soon) or if I can somehow find some more patience waiting for the Code 100 to be in stock (been told it will be available until February 17)

Ok, so first off, if you don't like marshal amps you'll hate this. It models ONLY Marshall's own amps but boy does it deliver! The JCM and Plexi models are definitely spot on with the real thing, and the Silver Jubilee is good too. it's protable, loud, light, and fun just like a practice amp should be; I recommend this to anyone from beginners to pros. Well worth the money, way more real sounding than Roland's cube line!

good for what it is. don't expect "tube tone" and the FX leave a lot to be desired. that being said... a great little amp for the price. my opinion may likely vary up or down after I get the foot-switch that has been back-ordered for some time now [and was a bit pricey too!] app is cool but seems to have a few bugs still...

I absolutely love the Marshall Code 25! It's the perfect practice amp for me. And, has enough balls to jam with my buddy!
The Gateway app is very cool... So many tones to play with. It's a keeper for sure.

This has so many features, it should cost much more. Marshall has taken over the affordable modelers. The sound is great, the Bluetooth works great. It's a blast and a if you like to fiddle and adjust, you'll be in heaven. I'm 64, I've owned most of these amps, it's really fun.

This little 25W wonder is amazing! I spent a few hours with it, the day it showed up from Sweetwater. Straight away, I was impressed by the layout, half of the presets, and the authentic reproduction of real-deal amps. I'm a basement superstar, so I didn't require a larger version of the product. For such a little amp, it's HUGE on sound. I know, already, that this is going to be my go-to box. With all the options, Blue Tooth connectivity, Aux input, and small form factor...this is, most definitely, an everyday amplifier.

I've ordered several things from SW Sound. Each time, they've exceeded my expectations. Customer service is second to none. I'm a customer for life! Thanks to Mike W. for hooking me up, yet again!

Hard to believe. This sounds like my old cranked EL-34 Marshalls and the volume is so loud its hard to believe it 25 watts.
I can not wait to get a mic on this and see how it records.

I need a Fender Twin Clean tone to Marshall nasty. This amp does it all and programs all my final tweeks easily. Fender Twin....No Problem !!!! Marshal JCM800...No Problem !!!! Add a little compression...it's easy. Programming from my phone is a gas. The tone is all there, the tube feel is all there, and it's loud. Super value for such a great sounding amp. Well built and I can't find a flaw. Totally fun to play and program.

Yeah this little gem is doing well so far. The presets are either spot on or as close to it as you can get. I have had them all and I really like the direction amps are heading. I have messed with the settings and the BT app and it is all put together in a nice small combo. They've been on top of the app as far as bugs and I'm sure firmware updates will be coming. It's a loud 25 watts. Don't think I've been past 4.I love the Plexi. I've been using the other 20 watt competitor for a while. So now I have the F sounds and the Marshall sound at arms length. Pretty wild when I have 3 top level tube amps and I still go to the small digital combos. Definitely worth the 200 clams. You can really get anything you need out of this amp. I own a Blackstar ID:Core 20 and it's a very good amp, BUT this Marshall Code 25 I don't know where to start. It definitely has the Marshall tone and all the different Pre Amps they all sound so close to the Analog amps seriously and don't be spooked by the 10 inch speaker this little AMP rocks it is plenty loud enough.
Did we talk about the Bluetooth, Bluetooth jam tracks Bluetooth amp settings also the FX loop is so good the sounds are so close to analog In short this AMP is a steal at $199 I would pay up to $399 for this amp. GREAT JOB MARSHALL !!!

First things first order 2 of them. This one amp sounds like any Marshall ever made to date.
REAL COOL HOT AMP Sounds grate. It's the loudest 25 Watt amp Ever!!!!!
Fills a big hall with lots of sound all most to loud I had to back it down some.
and this is only this first day, I had this amp for less then 16 HRS. today
and everyone that head it today was blown away. GRATE JOB Marshall and the price is way low on this amp for it's quality . Get one of each A Marshall customer since 1984 and never any issues at all.
