Very versatile

By Dave Clark on April 11, 2024

I have this cabinet and the other Peavy 212 cabinet. These are well made, sound great, You can open the backs, run stereo or in and out to the next cabinet. If you like experimenting with your amp and speaker combinations these cabinets make it much easier.

Love it

This is by far the best cabinet i have ever owned. I love how the speakers compliment each other.

GREAT AMPS...!

By JIM from OMAHA, NE on August 10, 2022 Music Background: self taught musician for 58 years.

I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PEAVEY AMPS OVER THE YEARS AND HAVE LOVED THEM ALL. THEY ARE BUILD VERY, VERY WELL, STURDY...!
I AM PARTIAL TO AMPS WITH EL84 TUBES. I NOW OWN THE CLASSIC 20 MINI STACK TUBE HEAD WITH THE 1X12 CABINET. IT CAN BE VERY LOUD BUT HAS A GREAT CLEAN SOUND AND THE BEST FEATURE IS THE DIALS ARE ON THE FRONT OF THE HEAD.
IF YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT BUYING A PEAVEY GET WITH IT, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG...!

Perfect Choice

By Rick from Vicksburg Michigan on November 9, 2020 Music Background: Learned to play in 1968. In a band since 2005.

I've had three other cabs. Marshall 1936, too bulky. Dr.Z Z Best, too stinkin heavy! Mesa vertical slanted, should never have sold that one! I would take this Peavey over these 3. I have a Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb combo. Liked it so much I bought the 65 head in blonde. Was thinking of buying the Fender Supersonic 2x12 because they would match. What stopped me was weight. Then I saw the Peavey when I was at Sweetwater. 20 pounds less than the Fender! The tweed is light enough it looks like they match. The combo came with a 40 watt Jensen and I swapped it with a Eminence Swamp Thang. What an awesome difference! When getting the Peavey 2x12, I figured I'd just replace the Celestions with Eminence. Swamp Thang and a Texas Heat. No way! This cab is perfect as is! At this price? I WILL be having another one!!

Another 5 Star*****

Solid Cabinet and Sweet Sound! I'm using it in Stereo Mode from two different heads: Bogner Duende w/Rivera Mini Rock Rec and a Rivera Venus Recording Head. No Mics involved in feeding the mixer. Nothing like a real speaker pushing air! Nice to have two different Celestion Speakers for different flavors. THX to Bob Mondok X1384 for confirming 8 ohm speakers in stereo.

Superb!

I love this cabinet! The speaker combination, closed/open back option even go stereo if I wanted to. Nothing speaks better than the sound from this cab. Bought it to go with my classic mh20. My classic 30 on top of this baby and oh my :):):):):)

Sweet sounds

Perfect match for my classic 20mh. Spectacular sounding between the 2 different celestion speakers. I like the vertical setup, puts the head up closer to you. I just wish the Peavey emblem would rotate for vertical setting

This is The Ultimate 2x12

By Richard from Florida on January 8, 2020 Music Background: Retired Touring Musician, Now Starting a Production Studio.

I'm becoming convinced that Peavey is making the best 2x12" Cabs to a point. What I mean by that is the Speaker Combinations, the Convertible Closed or Open Back Option, the Stereo or Daisy Chain Option. I got this so I wouldn't have to lug around my EVH 5150 III 4x12" to go jam with a drummer. I got one of these Used... and it's amazing. The sound is so Metal, I kind of look at it as a 2x12" version of a Bogner Ubercab since it combines the same Speakers the V30 and G12T-75 which I do believe is the heaviest combination of Speakers I've heard yet. Don't get me wrong my EVH 5150 III 4x12" Cab is still my favorite Cab but I'm so glad I got this instead of an EVH 5150 III 2x12". I just love the sound of these 2 Speakers together and now I'm thinking about getting the Peavey Invective 2x12" as well because I want to hear how it would sound daisy chained to this Cab which would give me 2xV30's, a G12T-75 and a G12H-75 Creamback... Speakers are so important to your tone, one of the most important components and we should all be experimenting with Speaker Combinations to find our unique sound. Don't just take your guitar and amp head to the studio, take your Speaker Cab too! It's a huge part of your sound!

excellent cab

This thing delivers on all fronts, sounds good with high gain and low gain applications.

V30s and GT 12 75 are a winner

By Brian Wozniak from MD on September 21, 2017 Music Background: Professional

So I know that Malmstein cabs have almost exclusively had GT 12 75. I have always been a Celestion speaker guy since I tried Vintage 30.

I wanted a 212 cab w V 30s. This cab is light at 46 lbs. It also is stereo/mono. You can fit a Peavey Valve King and Peavey 3120 neatly on top.

If you want to reduce the weight of hauling a 412 but still want that punch and true stereo effect
this is your 212 cab.

You can't beat Peavey.

Great product

By Johnny from New Orleans on February 24, 2017

Great cab from peavey, the speakers pair up great together. The tone is awesome. It's not too heavy, works great with my JSX head. Overall Build quality, grill and covering are very good. It also has a removable back Wow!!! A great product from Peavey with some of the best speakers on the market.

Surprisingly good

By Richard Scott from Nashville, TN on January 7, 2017

This cab exceeded my expectations and a number of ways. The cab is solid and well built, it is about as versatile as you can get in a cab - mono or stereo modes - the ability to operate in a closed or partially opened back mode and feet on the bottom and the sides so you can use it horizontally or vertically. It also has two different speakers so you can tweak your tone based on which one you mic (if you mic, and I do).

The tone is great. I expected it to have a great clean tone in keeping with the rest of the classic line but I was surprised at how well it handled high gain tones. This thing will do both well, in my opinion.

I wouldn't picking up an other one of these.
