Works very very well, but also has a few "Swiss Army Knife" use cases

By Dave Blickstein from New York, NY on April 1, 2024 Music Background: Progressive rock, metal, classical, jazz, fusion, etc.

I originally bought this VERY inexpensive plugin because the singer in one of my bands prefers to bath her vocals at gigs in way more reverb than I prefer.

But we're in the habit now using our digital mixer to record EACH show multi-track to a thumb drive. Then... if people post fan-shot videos we will download them, replace the audio with fully processed audio from the multi-track (EQ, compression, gating, and yeah... if needed a little pitch-correction), and then replacing the original cell-camera (crappy) audio with this improved audio.

But I have since found quite a few other use cases. I write/record in my home studio. Even with a certain amount of sound-treatment, a LARGE room (45x45 with high ceiling) and a quite-decent condenser mic with switches for pickup patterns, sensitivity, etc. I still hear quite a lot of the "room" in the track.

And what I've found is that a very mild application (low up the the single-dial control), it yields a result that strikes me as being almost indistinguishable from what I would expect if I had recorded in a proper sound-treated studio live room. SO that's a big bonus.

I will readily say that I love this plug in:

1) It works as advertised and very very well
2) It is pretty simple to use - basically one dial
3) It has more applications/use-cases than I originally bought it for

I also ended up getting (far too similarly-named) Waves Clarity Vx plugin (the lite version) and I'll write about that in a spearate review as it helps with the use-case I just mentioned. But... not as well IMHO.

Clarity Vx DeReverb plug-in is a powerful tool

By Roy Dawson from Darrington, WA on August 2, 2023

The Waves Clarity Vx DeReverb plug-in is a powerful tool for removing reverb from audio recordings. It uses a neural network to identify and remove reverb while preserving the natural sound of the vocals or instruments.

The plug-in is easy to use, with a simple interface that makes it easy to find the right settings. The main control is a single knob that adjusts the amount of reverb removal. There are also a few additional controls that allow you to fine-tune the results.

The Waves Clarity Vx DeReverb plug-in works well on a variety of audio recordings, from vocals to instruments to ambiance. It is particularly effective at removing reverb from recordings that were made in less-than-ideal acoustic environments.

Here are some of the pros of the Waves Clarity Vx DeReverb plug-in: I highly recommend this plugin for your toolbox
