Better than a soft bag, But
The case is a pretty good case, But it is no way the quality of the more expensive CrossRock Fiberglass case. I own both cases. In my opinion I would rather pay the extra for the CrossRock Fiberglass case Which is more than double. The craftsmanship is very evident in the CrossRock as it closes and locks seamlessly every time, where as you have to play around with the Kala case to get the locks to lineup so you can latch it which can be frustrating at times. Also if you Fly and take your instrument with you, you definitely will want the CrossRock Fiberglass as it will hold up to TSA and baggage handlers. Plus the CrossRock Fiberglass comes in BRIGHT distinctive color that are very eye catching and people are always commenting on and asking what I'm carrying.
The Right Case!
Not all cases are the same! We bought the Kala Tenor uke with a resonator- and ARCHED not flat back! It fit fine, the other guys perhaps not. Very pleased, as every case is an insurance policy, sometimes with extra convenience - these are plush.

A very reasonable price for this high quality hard shell case. With its carbon fiber look and black trim makes it look professional. My uke fits nice and snug in the fur lining. I love this case.
