Schecter CV-4 Bass Guitar - Gloss Natural Reviews

4-string Bass Guitar with Ash Body, Maple Neck, Rosewood Fingerboard, and 2 Split-coil Humbucking Pickups - 3-Tone Sunburst

To rock bassists who are looking for a fully loaded P- or J-style at a great price, Sweetwater recommends the Schecter CV-4. For slap 'n' pop funk to growly modern rock, this heavily modded 4-string brings the best of the mod shop — including low-noise humbuckers with versatile 3-way series/split/parallel mini toggles — to an undeniably classic-feeling design. The CV-4's slender satiny "C" maple neck with carbon fiber reinforcement and heavily contoured lightweight ash body are super comfortable to play from a seated or standing position. Choice hardware and appointments include an S-Tek bridge with adjustable steel saddles, a permanently lubricated Tusq XL nut, and a 6-bolt neck attachment for drift-free performance on the road.

Great Bass

By Steve Goldberg from New Jersey on May 6, 2022 Music Background: Many Moons gigging..

This is one of my favorite bases without a doubt..
I have a closet full of 1970's Fender basses
Sounds good but they play like Crapola. Anyone honest enough and old enough would agree..
I absolutely love this Bass..I'm in a wedding band and gig consintly.
The neck is wonderful makes my Fenders feel like Dinosaurs..For a passive bass you have a lot of tones to play with .
This Bass has it's own personality and it kicks but.Ihave used this Bass for quite a few gigs now so far she hasn't let me down super virsatile.

I have been playing a lot of years..my instruments are like tools at this point of my life.
This Bass is Fantastic and would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about an overpriced Fender
This Bass kicks but. Reliable..once set up stays set up..that is something that a lot manufactures can't claim.
Bklyn Steve..

Great Overall Instrument for Cost

By Peter V from Los Angeles on June 21, 2021 Music Background: Hobbyist, weekend warrior, lifetime player.

I came across one of these at a recording session and the engineer wanted me to use it instead of my regular P-Bass (which had woof tones, he said...). Plays really smooth, the rosewood fingerboard is luscious, and the frets are nice and large (which I like). The fit and finish is pretty remarkable at this price point. Also, I like the electronics layout. I'm a guitarist first, and never liked the "blend" knob on most basses for controlling neck v. bridge pickups. I much prefer the simple switch, like on a guitar (all neck, 50/50, or all bridge). I also like the passive electronics (no batteries, thank you...). The coil tap switches are a nice touch and provide tons of options tonally. The overall controls layout is more like a Telecaster than most basses, and I like that. The tuning keys are high quality, also. And the neck has a nice satin finish. It's not an ultra-thin C profile (which I don't like). It's more like a medium C. This is a pretty good option if you're looking for a reasonably priced "one arrow quiver" bass. This is a pretty unbeatable value, in my humble opinion.

is this a wal? because god **** it sounds like one!

This instrument is something different I owned this for about a year and I come to realise that it has a very thick sound. these humbuckers are very hot and works really good with an SVT in my opinion, it does remind me of a wal bass like the mk2 which i love so much because i can't afford one.

Beautiful guitar with great action

By Jun Isobe from HARBOR CITY, CA on December 9, 2021

This is a beautifully designed guitar. It's a great beginner to mid-level guitar, but I can imagine gigging with it. It has a two-part spliced wood body so be careful when selecting the grain. The jumbo frets are very nice. There was some minor damage on my pick guard probably from the factory; it was very minor so I understand if Sweetwater missed it. The neck is very smooth and enables easy playing. The fretwork was decent for this price range. Very good tone on the pickups.
