The CSX2R xylophone mallets utilize a medium rubber beater to elicit warm and round sounds from the xylophone. Therefore, they make an excellent choice for solo literature, concert band, or orchestral settings. Made by percussionists for percussionists, you can expect top-quality performance with Clevelander mallets, time and time again.
Good For Practice, not for Performance
These mallets are not as articulate, and almost muffle the sound through absorbing each strike to the bar. These are more, medium soft to soft than medium, as I can not get anything past maybe- a mezzo forte. A beautiful pink color is a plus, but it's not as bright as in the picture. I would use these more for independent practice; any ensemble work with this is going to be drowned out. I use these during my practice so my ears aren't pierced with any of the crazy G Hamilton stuff. It's very light weight! I would imagine this being great in a classroom setting for rehearsals until a player graduates to more sounding mallets.
