The Lyrachord body is a durable, lightweight alternative to wood backs. It has a smooth interior surface specifically designed to enhance the reflections inside your instrument. The Mid-depth Cutaway body style strikes a balance between Ovation's thinnest and thickest body styles, giving you impressive projection while being comfortable to wear and play. Topped with real blackwood for rich tone, and with the onboard OP-4CT electronics for great plugged-in performance, the Ovation Celebrity Exotic Selection CS44P is ready to rock.

Australian blackwood
this guitar is amazing, I love the sound, it is super clean and makes you feel like you are recording. The sound is not as bright as the models that have both upper and lower holes, it is more mellow, but it is not as deep as the TX model (the black one) so it is a good in between sound. The projected sound is very good, you can definitely fill a small room with no amp. Loved it, the action has to be adjusted to fit your playing style, everything else is just amazing.
This pain in the butt customer is pretty darn happy
I've always liked Ovation and as this guitar is my third of the brand, I was hoping that this Blackwood version would be special. Well, let's start by saying that the frets are really good. Tall and wide, a 6150 is probably a good comparison, but no rough edges and nothing in the way of uneven fretwork. And trust that, I would have had the urge to do a leveling job if it needed it, and that didn't happen.
Also, I had not a clue what Blackwood was going to sound like, but after 4 gigs for the Veterans Day weekend and I can honestly say that Blackwood makes the grade. To my ears anyway... and judging from the recordings from the board, it has a nice balanced tone.
What else... the machines are great: high ratio .... The nut and saddle are not overcut or undercut .... 9-volt battery powered opamp is awesome ...
In short, I pulled this thing out of a box and gigged an entire weekend without having to make single adjustment.
Call it luck, but this is what I experienced buying this guitar.
