Buy this bass!
I've waited to review this bass for a few months, testing it in large and small clubs. First, the bass arrived in perfect condition and IN TUNE after riding in a truck during the middle of winter. The staff at Sweetwater set it up perfectly and that perfection arrived at my door. The bass has several tonal textures that you must experience. For me, I've got that growl, low end and snappy pop that I've always pursued - superior to my MusicMan and Fender Jazz basses. The balance and playability are absolute perfection. The neck is far superior to my MusicMan 5. And, the bass is incredibly light - goodbye shoulder and back strain day after the gig. Its very easy to transport. The included case makes it easy to throw it over your shoulder and go - as opposed to dealing with a big gig bag or case. The bass rarely goes out of tune. But, when it does, the tuners bring it back quickly - intonation is spot on. The bass also enhances expressive playing and tones based on where you pluck and how you adjust the mix between the piezo and magnetic pickups. To my surprise, it handles the tough stuff too - when you're thumb beats the heck out of the string and neck - and it wants more. Highly recommended. Expensive, but its the only bass you will want and need. Get it from Sweetwater! Oh, fit, finish, wood quality and electronics are all top of the line.
