If you frequently plug cables into your mixer or have other people do it, you pretty much will want this cover. I use my CQ-18T as an IEM mixer for gigs and have a top mount patch bay and have seen XLR plugs smack the cover many times. With the mixer, an iPAD is the same UI, so you can just leave the cover on to protect the screen. I use the screen at home in the studio mostly but not at shows.
