First of all Brian and everyone at Sweetwater could not have been easier to work with. They are responsive, make great recommendations by listening to your needs, and do all they can to get you your order right and on it"s way in fast.
The Ludwig set is beautiful and plays great right out of the box with the standard heads. I am just beginning drumming & wanted a kit that would last and I am sure I found it! Thank you Brian and Thank you Sweetwater!

I think like many people I started out with Ludwig snare drums and also since I have an obsession with John Bonham I decided to get a green sparkle kit in Bonham sizes. Absolutely blown away. I always thought Ludwig was played by "older" people. After playing one I found that to be completely untrue. I put coated emperors on all of the drums with embassadors on the reso side because of what Bonham played. You don"t have to tune like he did. I tuned it how I"d normally tune my kits and wowowowow. There"s a vintage vibe with a modern sound. Almost like a Greta Van Fleet or Rival Sons sound.

Well, I was so impressed by them that I got this olive oyster Fab22 kit. I"ve never owned or played a 22x14 kick and I have to say I"ll never go back to a 22x18 kick again. Super beefy still yet punchy and boomy. Somehow someway Ludwig has figured out how to make their drums sound amazing completely wide open. I usually have some sort of dampening on drums, but nothing on/in any of my Ludwig"s.

I have ordered 10" and 12" toms so the kit can be a little more versatile so looking forward to getting those.

The olive oyster finish is more impressive in person than what you see in the pictures. The craftsmanship is excellent too. Smooth bearing edges, the wrap is tight and smooth.

Listen, if you want to have a 3/4 piece kit to play in smaller clubs/bars you can"t go wrong with this kit. I"m a huge DW guy, but it is nice to pay significantly less for a kit of similar quality. VERY happy with this purchase! Thank you Ludwig and Sweetwater!!!
