Waves CLA MixDown Plug-in Reviews

It's an awesome plug in, I've tried everything and nothing compares to it.the pre sets are on point, I've spent years trying to learn the art of mixing and mastering and have been nothing but frustrated.....this extraordinary piece of art has taken my music to another level...................... Thanks a million waves y'all are truly professional!!!

We haven't added any new plug-ins of real significance to our DAW workflow in nearly a year, until now. Our mastering software has been the IK Multimedia Lurssen Mastering offering and a simple Softube plug-in. Both are awesome to place on an aux mix bus or even main/master mix-style. The Waves CLA MixDown Master Bus processor is beyond awesome,especially for the price. Matter of fact, this should be a mandatory purchase for any home/project studio. It just does so much so easily. The ability to "drive" the console master bus channel sounds realistic. Actually, it is hard to make a great mix sound worse,it always sounds better through this. ANY genre of music, there is a sweet spot. CLA hit a grand slam with this one.

I did the download today. The Waves developers have made the D/L process very easy. Installation went smoothly. And once I brought up the CLA MixDown Plug-in into my PT session, it became an ear opener. My test session was and is a work-in-progress; so, my expectations were not great. However, after I had already checked out the Video on the Waves site, I was prepared with excellent insights on what to do and what to expect. After a few passes and test tweaks, I eventually heard some surprises I had not previously heard. Yes, the Waves CLA MixDown Plug-in has been an ear opener for me. I found two guitar figures that needed some tweaks on their phrase tail fades. Amazing discovery that was, as that issue had not been truly apparent to me until now. Yes, my ears aren't quite what they used to be; but, with the Waves CLA MixDown Plug-in, I am hearing more of what I had not clearly heard before. Yes, it's an ear opener for me; and, it's a valuable tool. <>

This is the only plugin that can make you sound like a master engineer by simply selecting a well crafted preset and just letting it go to work. I really like mixing my tracks with the presets called "Clearview" an "Start Me Up" Both of these will help you achieve clarity, color, an a punched-up timbre that sounds like you sprinkled some magic dust on the mix and that you actually know what you're doing.

I don't know how long the intro pricing will last, but this plugin is worth at least 3 times what it costs, and that is a big reason why it gets the full 5-star treatment. As a guy who has moved primarily out of the box for final mixes by using tools such as a Dangerous Music 2Bus+ and a Rupert Neve Designs Master Buss Processor, I can tell you that plugins don't impress me much anymore. I used to use master limiter plugins, multiband compressor plugins, and Izotope Ozone on my mix bus, but could never quite get the sound I was looking for. That prompted the move to the outboard hardware I mentioned earlier. I do, however, use the Waves CLA stuff within the mix and have grown to depend on them for certain tracks so I was definitely interested when this plugin was announced. Bottom line is that I downloaded it and threw it on the mix bus of a track I had been working on that I was really familiar with and wow! Now mind you, this will not completely take the place of my 2Bus+ and my Master Buss Processor, but when you think you have the mix right where you want it prior to bouncing it down to be sent to your outboard gear, throw this baby on the mix bus. It just makes it shine and hold together better. Watch the video Waves made with CLA demonstrating this plugin on their website, and listen through your studio monitors. I think for the price, you will not only be impressed but blown away. Like I said, it takes a lot for a plugin to impress me these days; CLA MixDown delivered in spades!

This plugin actually does the trick pretty quickly and pretty well.Like all my songs on my next project are just about ready because of the CLA mixdown.This really does level out the playing field in the mix.Love it.Highly recommended.

good mixbus plug-in, gets that elusive mid range fill and width . I wish it had a wet/dry control which i like so i made a dry bus , much more lively

I think this plugin is great for almost every style when creating your mix! You can virtually put this on any mix and make it sound bigger, brighter, and louder! It adds just the right amount of compression and EQ to your track to get ready for mastering!
