The Mapex CH72 Remote Hi-hat Arm comes with the upper tube assembly — with felts for both sides of the bottom hat, an adjustable thumb screw, and under-clutch rubber bushings to stabilize your upper hat. The second part of the assembly is the lower tube with ball-and-socket joint and tom arm, which inserts into the end of the upper tube for lockable positioning. Made of strong steel with a durable chrome finish, the CH72 Remote Hi-hat Arm lets you add fixed-hat sizzle to your double bass drum rig.

Needs additional hardware.
When I purchased this I thought I would be able to place the main rod into the base of one of my PDCP 800 cymbal stands. Rod was too large. I found a cymbal stand that it did fit into but it sits too high with no way to lower it.
The unit is designed to be used with a clamp like the Gibraltar Super Universal Grabber clamp or something similar.
I like the design of the hi hat arm. I really like the way it adjusts the hi hat spacing.
I give it a lower rating because the clamp seems like a necessary part that should be included. More info about how the arm is mounted would be helpful.

This thing is genius! I had an old Tama closed hat arm, and the rod bent on it, so I chose this after seeing it on the kit of one of my favorite drummers. I now understand why: this thing is professional grade! The instant adjustability is perfect. Twist the big black knob and it clicks smoothly to tighter or looser hat spacing, all without having to touch the clutch! It"s a one-hand operation, and can be done quickly on the fly while playing if needed. I"m very impressed!
