To Short of a Gooseneck Mic. Does Not Pick Up Voice f
Purchased this Roland CGM-30 microphone to use with the Mic 1 XLR input on the Roland VR-1HD conference calls. With the mic pointed at me and only about 14 inches away it will not pick up my voice. I have to be four inches away for the mic to pick up my voice. Adjusted the gain per recommendations of Roland (youtube video) and still would not work. The mic itself is only 303mm.
Definitely look at longer gooseneck mics for video conferencing.
Also, the return process at sweetwater requires you to call in and speak to a sales engineer. First and last time I will purchase from this company.
