flemzie adjustable screw
Hanger is ok and works well with my mandolin or fiddle. The screw to tighten it on your stand ls less than perfect. Hard to get it tight and it wants to stray as your tightening the screw. Needs beefed up on that aspect.
Does the job
I have this attached to a stand that also has a bracket for a flute on one side and a quick-release preamp on the other, which keeps my specialty instruments in one place. It holds the mandolin a touch close to the stand, which is a good thing for a cramped stage. For good measure, I put a large dot of peel-and-stick felt where the mandolin might hit the stand if bumped. The wishbone screws in, which means it won't filp and fall out. There is enough friction to keep it level. My only real beef is that the paddle on the thumbscrew is bare metal and it protrudes around 1.75". When piled into a bag with the other stands, it could scratch something or be bent if handled by a gorilla. Overall, this is a good little item that does the job.

Nice & effective
Elegantly simple & effective. Easy to keep in the gig bag. Holds my mandolins, tenor guitar or bouzouki quite nicely. Doesn't hold it quite as far out from the stand or with the versatility of the Orcas, but what it does is usually plenty good enough.
