Jackson 5 string bass
I've been playing bass for 60 years.
This is the best sounding neck that I have ever come across.
This intonation is very, very accurate.
The next is strong (no twisting or bowing).
Be aware that this is a 35" scale Length. A fender bass is 34" long.
I customized my bass.
I felt that the onboard pickups and electronics were poor.
I ripped out the onboard electronics and stock pickups.
I installed a Seymour Duncan high output P-Bass split pickup.
I installed fender type volume pot and a tone control (all passive).
I changed the strings from B E A D C to E A D G C.
By getting rid of the low B in lessened the pull on the neck.
I used DR High Beam strings 40-100 gauge.
This bass really kicks *** now.
