Jackson X Series Signature David Ellefson 30th Anniversary Concert Bass CBX IV - Quicksilver with Laurel Fingerboard Reviews

4-string Electric Bass with Poplar Body, Maple Neck, Laurel Fingerboard, P/J Pickups, and 3-band EQ - Quicksilver

David Ellefson has added low-end punch to Megadeth’s hard-hitting brand of thrash metal throughout the band’s entire tenure, and his Signature Concert Bass CBX IV exemplifies the classic muscularity of his playing. EMG P/J pickups deliver punch and attitude by the truckload, while an active 3-band EQ supplies you with endless tone-sculpting options. Benefit from rock-solid stability via a quartersawn maple Jackson Speed Neck, while your fingers slide effortlessly up and down a compound-radius fingerboard. Experience a rapid attack and robust sustain, thanks to a Jackson HiMass bridge. Business will always be good with this killer Signature David Ellefson Concert Bass CBX IV from Jackson.

Awesome bass!

By Dayn Mcclenahan from Virginia on May 10, 2023 Music Background: Been playing bass seriously for nearly 20 years and I’m active in my local jam scene.

I've had this bass for a month now and play 3 gigs and lots of practice time. It's a fantastic bass! I was looking for an Active Emg pickup sound and this really fits the bill, it's a beautiful bass looks way better in person than the pictures!
I also wanna say that my sales engineer Hayden Flack was excellent! Extremely helpful and made my purchase easy! Would definitely recommend asking for him. The bass came setup and in tune. In fact I've only had to tune it once in the month and I've played it almost everyday. If you're considering this bass you won't be disappointed trust me!

MegaGood Jackson Bass

By Richard Welch from Highlands Ranch, Colorado on January 29, 2021 Music Background: Semi-Pro bassist with 40 years of experience playing Rock & Metal.

I owned three USA Jackson Concert Basses in the late 80's, and I've missed them ever since I sold them.
I've always been a fan of the old Concert Basses and of David Ellefson too, so I couldn't resist when I saw these pop up on the Sweetwater site.
This is the first Jackson Bass I've bought in over 30 years, and I have to say that for the money, this one is a winner!
The laurel fret board is nice & dark (unlike some I've seen), and the mother-of-bowling ball shark teeth inlays look great. The neck is very comfy, tuning stability is great and the fretwork is good. The weight & balance are outstanding.
The neck profile is very similar to the USA basses of old, and the tone and playability are great. I normally run my active basses with the EQ controls near their center detents, but this one sounds best with both pickups on & everything dimed.
I purchased a nice Gator hard case with it, and I'm very happy with this one!
Thank you Ryan, Jorian and Israel for your assistance!

Almost

I have been waiting for Jackson to produce it's Concert Basses again, and was thrilled to see this model. It plays just like the originals, which were excellent basses. I would buy a one of these tomorrow if they had a black headstock, ebony fingerboard, and a white body. The one paint job deal is a real disappointment.
