Wonderful classical guitar
I bought this guitar from Sweetwater after listening to the video with my headphones on from Bradford Werner This is Classical Guitar website. After letting the box sit in the room for 24 hours before opening the shipping box. Then I tuned it and started to play it. The notes are clean, sustain is wonderful. Guitar has beautiful timbre and flavors of each note and they blend together very well. Cedar top and Mahogany back and sides and neck gives this guitar a wonderful warmth. This is luthier made by hand with Spanish Heel Construction that is much superior than dovetail construction and bolt construction for each note that travels from the body to the headstock back to the body. After these strings wear out, I will put on the D'Addario EJ15 normal tension. I also use the StageWork guitar support.
The Cordoba C9 Parlor
Excellent short scale classical guitar. Comfortable to play and sounds great.
Cordoba C9 Parlor
What a lovely sounding guitar!! I received it about 10 days ago and have been enjoying it since. It has a beautiful sound and sustain. The 7/8 size seems to be just right for me. I'm not very tall and have small hands. I learned to play on a regular size acoustic guitar years ago but set it aside to raise my children and help with my grandchildren. Now I have picked it up and am trying again. Of course my hands and fingers are not quite as flexible as they used to be but I find myself playing more and more each day and that really helps.
Charlie Kim, the Sales Engineer who helped me was very knowledgeable and friendly. Very helpful! Thank you!! It was a good experience at Sweetwater. It is a beautiful guitar with a beautiful sound!
Cordoba C9 Parlor Classical
This guitar has beautiful deep tone. I am very happy with it. 40 years playing steel string and always wanted to delve into classical. The 7/8 size is very comfortable for me. Barring is actually easier with this guitar which pleasantly surprised me. Thicker neck is going to take getting used to after playing standard steel strings, but the sound is worth it. Agent Nick was also helpful and as always, impeccable service.
Amazing quality and sound
I'm a steel string player but wanted to expand my hobby a bit. I was deciding between the C9 and the C9 Dolce and I'm thrilled with the decision on the Dolce. It has a loud rich sound, much more than I thought it would. Perfect scale length for me especially since my steel strings are mostly 25" Scale. It's comfortable to play and light as a feather. Alan Finkbeiner was (as always) a great rep to help with the purchase. All around, another great experience with Sweetwater.
Great classical guitar for travel or one who has smaller hands
This is an awesome classical all wood guitar that has good sound although it is a parlor size. I researched online and after looking at all the reviews; am very happy with the Córdoba C9Parlor.
Sweetwater also had it packed really well for the delivery across the country. I am very happy with this product. Thanks!
Classical Guitar - 7/8 Parlor size with Canadian Cedar Top
I LOVE THIS GUITAR; it's a good size for me since I've shrunk; yes, with age for that matter. I do have another Classical Guitar the regular size and it has been a good guitar, but with aches and pains gathered with age (had a 80th Birthday in March) and my body shrinking a bit, put me in a not so good situation when trying to play the guitar. My left shoulder for instance had been hurt in a fall long years ago, but since buying the smaller guitar, this has really been a good CHANGE for me and with no pain. I love the sound tones of this guitar and now retraining on notes, scales, and re-learning the Classical Guitar. Am using the Christopher Parkening Guitar Book for lessons at this time and will eventually graduate to another teacher. Again, my NEW guitar is BEAUTIFUL! GOOD SOUND! and so much easier to play!
Cordoba c9 parlor
Ordered this 7/8 size as I am petite with arthritis in hands. My first guitars I ordered were both cordoba cadets and protégé 3/4 size. They were both nce and good sounds with nice workmanship. I am a beginner and in my 60,,so. . My husband has all so ordered Taylor baby,gs mini hog, and cordoba mini nylon string. All we can say we are loyal customers and Ryan is our special rep.the c9 parlor was ordered a week before Christmas and they were just waiting for their next inventory. WEll to our surprise we received it today Dec 27,2016!,,,!, the picures dont do this justice, the finish and workmanship is beautiful. I WANT TO THANK ALL PERSONNEL FOR THEIR HARD WORK AND EXCELLENT 55 POINT SET UP ON ALL OUR GEAR. MUCH HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND MAY ALL RECEIVE MANY BLESSINGS IN YHE YEAR AHEAD. BEST REGARDS ALLIE AND STEVE, IN FLORIDA you won't go wrong with the c9 parlor and the beautiful padded hard case. The sounds are wonderful to,hear and I look forward to, learning classical and folk music.hugs are sent to all.
Beautiful sound & construction, perfect for smaller players!
I recently started studying classical guitar after years spent playing steel string in a much less academic attitude and approach. I chose the Cordoba C9 Dolce (this year it's been renamed C9 Parlor) due to its smaller size (body is 7/8) and slightly thinner neck (just under 2", non-radiused) and smaller scale (630mm)---great for gals like me with smaller hands. I didn't want to start out my foray into classical studies with a total beginner type model, so after much research decided on this higher-priced guitar to start out with good sound and quality in construction. I was hesitant to buy a guitar without seeing/hearing it in person, but I took the risk and was not disappointed----I loved the guitar right out of the box and after a month, she's become a cozy friend.
First of all, the Cordoba C9 Dolce/Parlor comes with a well-made case with a built-in humidifier thingy that's easy to maintain. The guitar itself is lightweight, the finish (French polish) is beautiful but quite fragile (my advice is to be sure to put a cloth at the far side of the bridge when changing strings, in case you break a string and it snaps the finish--uh, like I did!). The factory-set action was neither too high nor too low; I prefer lower action so I filed the bone saddle slightly the first week; wanting it even lower but not wanting to sacrifice the original Cordoba saddle, the third week I got a Tusq replacement saddle (Classical/Low, compensated) and filed it lower, did a very minimal adjustment of the truss rod and voila---perfect for me. The neck played straight and true before I made all the adjustments, and played just as well after I fiddled with the saddle---no buzzing at all on any string/fret, in tune throughout. The sound of the guitar itself if very sweet---cedar-top mellow, warm, the basses resonant and the trebles clear and pretty. I switched out some strings each week to experiment and decided the recommended Savarez High tension Cristal Corum were best---they give a good even balance between the basses/trebles. After the initial break-in of new strings, the guitar stays in tune well.
I would definitely recommend the Cordoba C9 Dolce/Parlor for someone taking a serious approach to classical guitar---you'll get to enjoy the quality and ease of playability, and it's a very good starting point before you decide if your classical ambitions warrant you buying a more expensive guitar. I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Oh--and I appreciated the phone call and communication with my Sweet Water rep--that's a great customer service touch and I'll definitely buy from them again. Happy playing!
