Cordoba C7-CE Nylon String Acoustic-electric Guitar - Cedar Reviews
Enjoy rich tone and handbuilt quality with the Cordoba C7-CE! The Cordoba C7-CE is a fine value in an acoustic-electric nylon-string acoustic guitar. The handmade C7-CE sports Indian rosewood back and sides with a Canadian red cedar top, for vibrant tones with a lively presence. And the solid mahogany neck provides excellent sustain and detail. The cutaway gives you clear access to the entire fretboard. For onstage use the C7-CE has a Fishman Presys Blend preamp with an under-saddle piezo and an internal microphone. And with the gloss polyurethane finish, Indian rosewood binding, and a stylish rosette, the Cordoba C7-CE looks as good as it plays.

A sound the angels would appreciate.
The Cordoba C7-CE was exactly what I wanted, spruce top, rosewood back and sides and electronics.
My brother asked why I bought without playing it.
I admit I was concerned but went with Sweetwaters promise of fully inspected and playable out of the box.
I was not disappointed; the guitar was tuned a step down for travel.
After a minor tuning the sound was wonderful.
The appearance was just as the photos indicated, even the "character blemish" on the front was there.
Matt, my consultant, rearranged the shipping so the guitar would not be damaged.
My Sweetwater experience with Matt, the guitar, case, and accessories was among the best I've had anywhere.
Loving it so far...
Just an old musician trying to get back on the guitar. I really can't say much as I'm not a very good player at all. But the quality and customer service was excellent and I love playing it so far.
Great tone - a lifetime guitar
The guitar projects and sustains notes much better than my last one. Fingering with the left hand is comfortable and it's an attractive guitar. I find that the cedar top and rosewood sides add depth and warmth to my playing. It's at a good price, too.
Beautiful Sound and Looks
I've had my Cordoba C7-CE for a few weeks and I have to say that it has become my favorite guitar. Opening the box, I was struck by just how beautiful the guitar is; fit and finish is outstanding. The setup is good out of the box and the tone is wonderful both acoustically and through an amp. My guitar coach played it (he's been playing for 50+ years and is classically trained) and was also very impressed.
I also purchased Cordoba's HumiCase, which is well worth the price, to protect the guitar. Very nice case and the C7-CE fits extremely well.
Gorgeous Guitar
From the moment I took this guitar out of the box, I knew I'd be playing it every day of my life. Sounds and feels wonderful acoustically and electrically. Make sure you don't leave the tuner/preamp on because a dying battery will drastically alter your recording sound.
The instrument however doesn't come with a case, though you're paying $... (Someone I know received their Spruce Cordoba from Sweetwater in a very nice Cordoba case without having ordered it... Must have been promotional). It came in a box in another box with padding, but seemingly no plastic seal/waterproofing. Despite that it arrived in great condition.
I love it
I have never been a fan of or interested in nylon string guitars. Now, that was a mistake on my part. This thing is sweet. "Sweet" is the word I use to express my satisfaction to the highest degree. If you are looking for a nylon or any other guitar ask Rob Kramer to help you here at Sweetwater. you will be happy with the guitar and the sale.
Beautiful instrument
I just received my new guitar. It came in so quickly. The guitar feels great and it feels so good to play again. The sound from the guitar has such a nice tone. The strings that come with the guitar do not hurt my fingers. I highly recommend this guitar.
Awesome Playability and Tone!
Fantastic guitar for the money, it stays in tune, quality materials and very good craftsmanship, no blemishes, no issues. I mostly play it through a Fishman Loudbox Artist but it has a nice tone unplugged as well. It has a warm tone in my opinion but once plugged in you can do whatever you want! I like using my TC Electronic pedals along with it as well.
Beautiful Guitar
I was gifted a 100$ guitar that broke, and ended up buying myself a new one. This one is beautiful, comes with a tuner attached to the guitar and it sounds wonderful. Definitely worth the price.
Don't Leave the Tuner On!
I love this guitar. I've never had a classical guitar before so it's a new musical journey for me. I thought the action was too high but then I realized it's actually perfect and I'm just not used to playing on nylons. It sounds great plugged in or unplugged. The Fishman pickup system has a piezo under the saddle with a little mic (maybe an electret?) mounted where the battery installs in the EQ apparatus and there's a "Mic Blend" knob on the control. My only gripe is that I usually play it unplugged and I keep forgetting to turn off the tuner and that kills the 9V battery pretty much overnight. It's a little two position push-button switch which is easy to not realize is pushed in when I go to put it away. I went through like three alkaline batteries before investing in rechargeable ones from Amazon. Overall, this is a beautiful addition to my guitar collection and I'm super happy with the purchase. Also should note that I went for the demo model, as I tend to do when there's one available.
AWESOME
I bought the demo and I still can't find any cosmetic flaws; it sounds GREAT and I can get so many different tones out of it. I am a novice and this is all the classical that I will ever need or want. It goes nicely with my Taylor koa 6 string and my Epiphone Sheraton. I ALWAYS DEAL WITH Bob Mondok and he has always done RIGHT for me
Great guitar
Great guitar for a great price, not too expensive and has a beautiful good sound.
Nice all-around
Nice looks, nice wood, nice sound, nice feel, but most of all nice price.
Cordoba C7-CE Cedar- Natural
Is the best sound I have ever heard in a guitar it has a really great acoustic it's very loud without the necessity of an amp I enjoy that very much I'm in love with it and I hope to buy more of them later in my career.
Hard to beat for the price
While there are better Classical guitars in an unplugged setting out there, the C7-CE has all the electronics you need for amplification and a very playable neck (more slender than most Classicals). It's a simple workhorse that will not fail nor disappoint. I use it in a church setting and solo instrumental shows plugged into a sound system without Effects. The Fishman onboard P'ups do great.
Great guitar
Beautiful guitar, excellent sound. Overall, I'm very hapy with this C7-CE but that was after taking it to a local luthier and getting the action lowered. Surprisingly, even after the 55 point inspection, it was necessary for me to take it in as the action was exceedingly high. Fret 13 and 14 had to be reduced in size and the action lowered.
Not Impressed
The guitar initially felt very light-weight. Translation... cheap. Then I tried to tune it up. Used every method that I knew. Open strings by ear... tuner... harmonics... tuned to a D chord by ear... the works. Then I would play a few chords and it was miserably out of tune with itself. Unbearable. I'm a professional guitarist and know how to tune a guitar. And as for the action... well... it was just ok. I am being generous giving it a two-star rating. It looks nice. I'll give it that.
Cordoba C7-CE
You will have issues with this guitar. Fret work is sub-par, high frets are guaranteed. I returned two of these guitars because of fret issues and the neck had 2 curves in it.
I play a lot of c-form and mostly in 1st 5 frets. the strings were unraveling after 2 hours of play from ramp in neck at the nut and strings rubbing at 2nd & 3rd frets. Sweetwater offered repair, but 4-6 weeks for initial inspection with another 6 weeks to do the work. Save your money...
