Beautiful top notch

By Jeremy Taylor from Tennessee on March 12, 2024 Music Background: Player of strings

This is a beautiful guitar. The sound is absolutely amazing. I was happy to see Sweetwater packed it well and it arrived in mint condition . Their sales team checked up on me several times without being annoying. John McWhirter was wonderful to work with. The Craftsmanship of the guitar is second to none. I highly recommend Sweetwater and Cordoba guitars for your next music purchase.

5 Stars

By james molyneux from south carolina on February 26, 2024 Music Background: self taught intermediate player

I have been playing an old Takamine G128S for a few years, I even had bone nut/bridge put on it, which improved it somewhat, I finally decided to class it up a little. I have had Cordoba's before, the lower end models. I went with the C7, and I wish I had done it already This guitar is just beautifully made, and the sound is so much better than what I had. I am pushing 70, and the sound I get from this thing has given me a new interest in learning classical guitar. I am hoping that when I get to 70, I will be able to go to a C9 at least. Do not fear buying these things from Sweetwater-you cannot go wrong, they check every guitar they get before they sell it.

CORDOBA C7 AND SWEETWATERS SERVICES

By brad moyer on January 12, 2024

The Cordoba C7 is everything I've been looking for in a nylon string guitar. A great balanced classical guitar with high action, yet easy to play, rich sound, everlasting sustain, booming sound, no twang. The sound of a cedar top is unbelievable i am VERY impressed. Its just what the Doctor ordered, if you're a classical player this is what you have been looking for.

I'm very wary of trusting online companies with my money but it was very secure, I will be shopping here from now on. Also, I couldnt afford a case for this but have no fear they packaged this baby up really well no a ding or scratch.

and BTW THANKS GUYS I LOVE IT!!!!!

Cordoba C7 nylon 6 string

Good intermediate level. Well made so as not to discourage beginners and affordable entry level price point.

Truly excellent!

By Rob from PA on September 8, 2023 Music Background: Hobbyist guitarist these days

My dad has been playing guitar for all his life. He was pro way back on the day, but left it to pursue a carreer in engineering. Now, he rarely plays guitar. He has owned a truly beautiful playing and sounding guitar for over 35 years, but sadly that guitar was just too beat up from years of abuse that it just stopped working, and even developed an awful crack along the headstock.

Well, he's bought about three other guitars to replace it, but none have even come close. Until this one.

It plays and sound fantastic! And it is very handsome too! I'm always in awe of how much brightness I can get out of it when fingerpicking, and then instantly get into a nice mellow tone for strumming. It is very versatile and responds extremely well to your playing. It is by far much more dynamic than the others he bought around this price point.

He has been very happy with his guitar since he bought it. He plays Mexican and latinamerican folkloric music on it. The guitar sounds great whether he is playing a simple bolero or digging into the difficult art of Peruvian guitar.

I myself play mostly electric guitar and steel string acoustics, but this Cordoba is such a nice guitar to play that there are entire weeks where I won't play my electrics since I'm having too much with this one. It really is that good.

If I were looking into getting a nylon guitar coming from steel string acoustics, I would definitely go with this C7! Even the price is great.

Eventually I'll get a good luthier to repair my dad's old broken guitar, but in the meantime, this one is a worthy replacement.

Jeff Bohan is awesome

Jeff did an amazing job helping me pick out a guitar and all the equipment I needed. I will purchase from him again in the future.

Wonderful in every way

By Kirk from Alabama on January 31, 2023 Music Background: Jazz, Classical, Flamenco, Funk, Turkish, Italian, Israeli

It looks and plays like a much more expensive guitar. It's a mariachi/flamenco guitar. The only way it differs from a regular classical guitar is that the body and neck are slightly thinner. It's a little more comfortable and has better playability especially when it comes to faster licks and runs. It's also more fancy and festive looking. I love mine and I can't imagine selling this babe. I can easily play classical, flamenco, jazz and more with it and it sounds beautiful.

Happy Happy Joy Joy Classical Guitarist

I've been wanting to learn classical guitar for a long time and the Cordoba C7 seemed like a good one to learn on (I've played steel string Dreadnought for years) and SweetWater really gave me a good deal I couldn't refuse (Godfather Phil) Good action, nice feel, sweet sound and a very nice looking guitar for the price. Thank you Cordoba and SweetWater.

Couldn’t get more guitar for the same price

By SearedSteak on June 23, 2022

The Cordoba C7 is plenty of guitar for the beginner/intermediate player. You really could not get more guitar for the same price. It has a beautiful warm sound that makes it sound like a more expensive guitar.

So much more than I expected

By George Vacca from Pennsylvania on June 21, 2022 Music Background: Enthusiastic Amateur

I expected this would be a nice entry level classical nylon string guitar - but this Cordoba C7 is so much more. The look is gorgeous - from the gold tuners with black buttons (really precise tuning!) to the hand-friendly neck, dark back and sides and that beautiful red cedar top. The build quality is impressive - much more than I expected. I tuned it up and played "Classical Gas" and now it sounds like the Mason Williams version that he did on a classical nylon. I'm thinking how great this guitar will sound on "Somewhere" from West Side Story and "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic. The tone is deep, and resonant with wonderful clarity and sustain. I love my steel string guitars, but I will have a hard time putting this down for a long time.

If you are thinking of adding a classical nylon to your guitarsenal, I can't see how you would be disappointed in this C7. And when you order, you will want a hard case to protect this beauty. Sweetwater is tops in customer service, and if you don't have a rep, I highly recommend AJ Beccera who has helped me for years - he's knowledgeable, detail oriented and an all around good guy.

Cordoba C7 Cedar - Outstanding

By Steven Bryan from IVINS, UT on March 1, 2022

I recently purchased the Cordoba C7 with a Cedar top.

First, the guitar. I debated between the C5, C7, C9, and C10. I have played the different models and love all of them. I have purchased other Cordoba guitars in the past and have always been pleased with the quality and value that they provide. I have other Guitars brands also. (Taylor, Yamaha, Alvarez, Ibanez, etc.) Cordoba has never let me down.
The C7 seemed to fit in the perfect Return on Investment niche. The price is very accessible to most people, and the level of guitar that you get for that price is outstanding. Of course paying twice as much will get you a 'more expensive' / 'better' guitar, but in reality, the C7 provides you with a 'unicorn' guitar. The more expensive models are exceptional, but for your dollar, you do not get 'twice' or 'three times' the guitar. The C7 is a real treat. It sounds beautiful. It looks gorgeous. It plays wonderful. (I recommend adjusting the action to fit your individual needs - but really, this is required on every guitar. I like and adjusted the action to be lower than how it came out of the box - but this is a very easy process).

If you are on the fence about the Cordoba C7, just get it. You will not regret it. I get a large smile on my face every time I pick it up. It's hard to put down.

Second, the service of Sweetwater is the best. I have purchased from Sweetwater before, and will continue to do so. Their attention to detail and customer service is outstanding. I have full confidence in them and will continue to purchase all my musical instruments from them. Keep up the great work.

Thanks Cordoba and Sweetwater!!

Looks beautiful and sounds beautiful.

A work of art and very good value for the price. Not sure I would ever need to upgrade.

Beautiful Art

By JOSEPH COVELLI from New Hyde Park, NY on June 3, 2021 Music Background: 63 playing since age 12

This guitar is an example of fine craftsmanship. Beautiful in detail and design. Action is very light but not light on sound. The neck allows easy cord forming and single note playing is very precise. Also purchased a Yamaha CG 172 SF. Another great guitar but its a work horse built for a different road!

The Cordoba quality and craftsmanship is amazing.

Cordoba C7

By Sweetwater Customer on November 17, 2020

I am back to playing the guitar after many years and wanted something that would grow with me as I progressed on the musical path. After lots of research this is the guitar that came out on top. I'm very happy with it. It has great sound and looks beautiful. I will enjoy it for a long time.

Absolutely Thrilled!

By Nadyne Guzman from Castle Rock, CO on November 3, 2020 Music Background: piano, keyboards, some guitar, vocal

I played guitar a bit earlier in my life but never had enough time to get good at it. I'm a 72-year-old woman and playing keyboards wasn't satisfying me, so I decided to find a guitar I'd enjoy. This one is perfect for me! The size works and I really love the sound!! The rich tones "feel" perfect and I find myself enjoying the re-learning process. This instrument has the sound and feel of more expensive models while being affordable. I love playing simple songs now and look forward to learning more complicated ones. I'm also working on chords, but find the simplicity of really playing songs to be very satisfying. I highly recommend this model!!

HARD TO IMAGINE SOMETHING BETTER

By Ron L Rabie on September 20, 2020 Music Background: 50 years off an on with folk guitar.

I have played at guitar for 50 years. Folk and finger picking mostly. I have a pretty good ear. I find the sustain, projection and accuracy of fretting to be amazing on this instrument. Once tuned and stabilized, the humidity controlled instrument retains near flawless tune. I did lower strings at the nut to improve playability. Fit, finish and furnishings are 1st quality. I play this with high tension strings as I find them noticeably brighter with better sustain. I highly recommend this instrument. A good case is mandatory - don't skimp.

Very impressed

By Brett on September 2, 2020

For the price point, I can't imagine a better value in a classical. The workmanship is surprisingly good, and the guitar frankly sounds excellent. I have always had a preference for rosewood for it's full-bodied bass. The combination of the rosewood and cedar top gives the guitar a warmer sound but nice range without sounding muddy. I am very much a beginner classical player and the C7 perfectly fits the bill for me. Out of the box the action is good and very playable with no buzzing issues, but I do appreciate having the truss rod if I decide to make adjustments in the future. I purchased the Humicase to store the guitar in which fits the guitar perfectly. I look forward to many years of enjoyment with the C7.

As always I appreciate the excellent service I received from Sweetwater. These guys know their stuff, and they always go out of their way to ensure a great customer experience. Thanks, Sweetwater!

Amazing value and a surefire cure for GAS

By Rob Ricks from Asheville, NC on May 20, 2020 Music Background: Former gigging musician with 30 years of guitar experience

If you're suffering from Guitar Acquisition Syndrome (GAS) and lack a classical guitar in your arsenal, consider curing your condition with a C7 from Cordoba. Ahem...Now that my Mad Men streak is out, on to the guitar. It is an amazing value. The fit and finish is excellent. Intonation is spot on, and the frets are nicely dressed. The tuners are perfectly serviceable. The action is perfect right out of the box, and the tone is warm and even. I suspect that the top wood quality would be just below AA. There's probably a Chinese luthier tap-testing what comes down from the Luthier Series, and allocates those hand-me-downs through the Iberia Series, with the C7 getting the best tops, and on down to the C3M's. If you're turned off by the idea of Chinese guitars, please take the time to get over it. Yamaha, Cordoba, and others present consumers with high quality and well priced instruments from all throughout Asia. I've seen reviews that lump all products from China as inferior, with all those reviewers conveniently forgetting that we Americans have made some crap in the past (a la, just about any guitar made in the 70's). At around $500, the C7 is the best overall value in the Iberia series, with the most potential to retain its worth over time. I highly recommend it.

Amazing Value!

By Rob from North Carolina on May 15, 2020 Music Background: Former gigging musician, 30+ years playing rock, blues

Fast shipping from Sweetwater (as usual). I was surprised at the quality of the polyurethane finish. Overall the C7 is pleasing to look at with the wood combos and the finish. The tone is warm and even. I'm still developing my right fingernails, but using just fingertips is still bringing out a nice sound. The intonation is spot-on. Only the A string was slightly sharp, and a gentle jostling brought it back in the ballpark. Most times when I encounter one string that won't intonate, the string itself is the most likely culprit. The tuners are perfectly serviceable, and look very nice. Your not going to find a better classical guitar at around $... I'm very pleased. If you're debating between this and the C5, I recommend going with the C7. I believe it's a better overall value.

Exceeds My Expectation

By Ron Rabie from St John's, Arizona on February 26, 2020 Music Background: I have played at guitar most of my lofe

This instrument is simply gorgeous in all respects. Beautifully made with great attention to detail. I gave my 1968 Martin D35 to my daughter a few years ago and had been missing playing. This Cordoba is its replacement in my life at a time when learning classical guitar is possible. The sound is superb - warm tones with outstanding sustain. I enjoy looking at it nearly as much as playing it. I would recommend buying the Cordoba Humicase with this instrument as its purchase extends the warranty to lifetime.

Classical beauty

By Lauro Cruz on September 19, 2019

The treble side of the instrument has snap to it and very clear. For this price point you are getting your money' worth. I would buy this instrument. The financing is great. Thank you guys for an exceptional experience.

Great guitar, great value.

By Marc Gerber from Encino, CA on November 18, 2020

Just got my C7 from Sweetwater with the intention of learning Jobim. The guitar is light, it's beautiful, fantastic build quality and it sounds great.

Great guitar for a fantastic price

By Chuck from Marietta, GA on December 19, 2019

As a beginning student of the classical guitar, I needed an instrument that wouldn't hold me back by getting in the way of my practice with buzzes and poor tone. This guitar fit the bill beautifully. I did the recommended professional setup, but it didn't need much. I changed the strings to La Bella 2001s and found that to be more to my liking than the strings it came with (maybe those were old). Overall, a great guitar for a fantastic price.

C7 Spruce

By Gursel on October 27, 2021 Music Background: advanced amateur guitar player

Nice sounding guitar with comfortable handling. It also looks good. However tuning machines have a tendency to break. Tuning keys turn inside the shaft and this is really frustrating. Cordoba must definitely work on improving these parts (poor plastic) as a top priority.
