Wonderful Guitar
If you're looking for a top sound guitar, which sound as good or better than a Taylor, or other more expensive brands, make no mistake, this one is for you.
I was "fighting" to a get a descent sound from a Godin without success.
The Washburn C64SCE was the solution after lowering the action to 2.8mm at the 12th fret. Which I did myself.
I play mostly Brazilian Jazz with requires a warm sound and wider neck. In my opinion, Washburn and Cordoba are the best guitar in the market right now. They are very well made and worth a lot more than what you pay.
Stop your search, get one, preferably at Sweetwater, the best music store in the Country, service and price wise. You won't be sorry.
Only One Issue
I received the guitar quickly (as usual for Sweetwater) and left it in the box for 24 hours per instructions. I unpacked it the next day and was tickled to find that it even included the 9-volt battery needed for the tuner and electronics. I unwrapped the battery, inserted it, and was dismayed to see that the tuner did not work. I plugged it into my amp and hardly got any sound. I had never needed to return anything to Sweetwater before and was worried that my luck had run out. In spite of the 55-point inspection Sweetwater did, the electronics did not work. I decided to sleep on it before requesting a return. In the morning I decided to test the brand-new battery that came with the guitar. You guessed it! It was dead. I put in a fresh one and it worked like a charm. This is the 13th guitar in my collection and there is nothing unlucky about it. Sounds great! Plays great! Just one thing; I've been playing guitar for 58 years (since I was 13) and every guitar I own still makes stupid mistakes! Go figure.
My best guitar.
I have five guitars… A Godin multiac grand concert, a Yamaha SLG 200N, a Cordoba C5 CET, a Gibson Les Paul and a Washburn C64SCE-A.
The Washburn is the best of all, plugged in or not. The sound is warm and clear the workmanship is flawless. The looks is traditional and perfect and the price is unbelievable. It is my least expensive guitar but the one I like the best.
Out of the box, the action was too high. I lowered to 2.7mm on the 12th fret, it is perfect now. Very playable.
You don't need to spend thousands on a Taylor or any other brand to have a nice guitar.
Washburn C64SCE-A is the best classical guitar I ever played on.
Delighted with this classical
Got this today after ordering another and not liking the playability
Love the action as is and really am liking the built in tuner
Solid top sounds great
A bonus for me was the truss rod I'll have this baby in the flamenco zone
Big thanks to my Sweetwater rep Aaron for getting this to me Uber fast on a holiday weekend
This will be the couch - beach guitar
Washburn Classical C64SCE - Natural
Great guitar for the money. Far exceeded my expectations.
Exactly what I wanted
I needed to upgrade my older classical model S80 (also Washburn) and wanted a cutout classical with a built-in pickupt. Not only did the C64SCE arrive in perfect, playable condition, it sounds great both amplified and without. I've always used piezo pickups, and the electronics on this guitar have great tone control and sound so much better. The on-board tuner is awesome.
Sweetwater has displayed excellent pre- and post sales support during this purchase and followed up with a call after a few weeks to ensure my satisfaction. Highly recommended!
My New Best Friend
Experience has taught me that the price tag on the guitar has little to do with the joy that playing the instrument brings to the player or the listener. It is with a smile that I say my new Washburn C64SCE 6-string has a sweet, strong voice that I would gladly hold it up against guitars that cost five times as much. I couldn't be happier. My Washburn cutaway not only pleases my ear, she is handsome too, and we are well suited to one another.
Great guitarP0
This beautiful little guitar surpassed my expectations in all categories. It sounds wonderful, the electronics work perfectly, it looks great, and has a true classical guitar feel. I particularly like the low end sound on this particular guitar, it rings true and clear. Other guitars more expensive may have finer trim, but I honestly can't imagine a classical guitar sounding better than this.
Great classical
Received my new Washburn in 2 days and what a surprise. First the packaging was great so I knew it was in great condition when I unpacked it. The finish on this guitar is fantastic and after some tuning I was amazed at the sound and projection of the C64SCE. Plugged in it sounds just as great, sweet mellow sound. Great price from Sweetwater and of course great service.
Washburn Classic Guitar
My first guitar in a long time. Great support provided by Sweetwater sound engineers and sales in selecting the right guitar for me. I am not that experienced, but the Washburn seems to me a great guitar at a fair price. I am truly enjoying it.
Wonderful guitar for the price
Very nice classical guitar at an affordable price. I was in the store waiting on my brother-in-law who was trying out pedals. I went to the acoustic guitar room while I waited and played several guitars, but I kept coming back to this one. I had no intention of buying a guitar that day, but ended up walking out with this one.
This model has a composite rosewood fretboard, which could pass off as ebony, due to the darker color of the composite and lack of visible grain. Action out of the box is very playable for a classical guitar, but for flamenco you will probably want to lower it.
Got a demo
Good plugged in although a Classical iii would be make more sense considering the msrp. Great quality feel as far as QC goes. Nice for Latin and Hispanic bohemia, bossa and the like. Good for gigging those styles. Not for serious classical minded folk. Toy like sound unplugged and I'd never have paid full price nor picked it out at a store due to that fact. Surprisingly playable neck despite being a bit round. But it's good because it obligates you to keep your thumb low and you'll seriously improve technique and avoid bad habits.
intonation way off on high strings
Especially the B string is way off, the fretted note (12th) is really sharp compared to the harmonic note (12th fret)
adjusted the truss rod to bring it a little closer, but still way of and cant turn it anymore.
Which is to bad because the guitar came flawless aesthetic wise.
If I only play on the first 5 frets it plays and sounds great.
However the higher up the neck I play the more out of tune it gets
