The C636 is housed in a worry-free durable metal housing and features a state-of-the-art, multilayer pop noise rejection system that eliminates plosives, letting you focus on your vocal performance, not on the performance of your microphone. Add in the ambient-noise-rejecting cardioid polar pattern, and the AKG C636 is truly a stage-ready performance condenser microphone.

I don't write reviews
I have admittedly never written a review for anything in my life, but when I saw this microphone had zero reviews I had to step in. I have sung into A LOT of microphones and I won't bore you with examples you're just going to have to trust me. This microphone is different, it's exciting to sing into. I have owned several old c535 microphones and still hold on to a few functional ones, I've always loved the way they sounded. This microphone took everything I loved about the c535 and put it in a rugged road worthy housing with improved components and durability. I used it almost every night for nearly two years before having a small cap issue that Sweetwater and AKG took care of under warranty. I tried a few new microphones while it was out being repaired, fine microphones, and they couldn't hold a candle to the c636.
The c636 is the closest to studio grade monitoring you'll ever hear through a floor wedge with a band behind you. The precise pattern results in a near zero chance of feedback and as much gain as you could ever ask for. It truly is like an instrument to me, and if I'm not singing into it something doesn't feel right. If you're a vocalist obsessed with capturing the right tone for your voice, you have to give this microphone a shot.
