Behringer C-1 Medium-diaphragm Condenser Microphone Reviews
The Behringer C-1 Studio Condenser Microphone medium diaphragm condenser microphone is probably one of the best values you'll find in a condenser mic. This is a great all-around studio recording mic, ideal for capturing vocals and instruments in the studio. It also excels in live applications. The pressure-gradient transducer with its shock-mounted capsule produces a smooth, flat frequency response. You get a rugged, die-cast metal chassis, gold-plated XLR connector, and a swivel stand mount. You can't go wrong with the Behringer C-1.

I love these!!!
These are great mics for the price. These have many uses and will deliver. These can be used on vocals or instruments. I've used them for quartets and bluegrass groups and they worked well. Can't go wrong with them!!
Great Quality
These are great mics for the price. We use them for school assemblies and performances. They are sensitive enough to hear speech from several paces away and robust enough to use with elementary and middle schoolers.
A BARGAIN AT TWICE THE PRICE
We needed another mic for Open Mike Night and grabbed a C-1. it has awesome response and sensitivity, too much for an open mic application actually. We use it now as a studio mic for instruments and vocals on demos. We just got a second C-1 we like it so much.
Great large diapham mike at a cheap price
We really like this mike for a small church choir. Previously we used 3 small hanging mike which really didn't do the job at all. One of these in front on a high stand is great for a small group. I already had one personally. Now the church has one. At Christmas we used both for the kids choir as they were spread out ... worked great. And the price was right.
Great Value!
Bought 3 for my Home Studio Set up for my Drums. I have two as Overheads and 1 for my Kick. I have a cheap Karaoke Mic for my Snare, but it's just to fill out the Low end a little. The Two C1's cover all the Cymbals ( 6) and Toms (4), even the High Hat. I don't hear any noise from them unless i crank the Gain. They are excellent for home recording. I can't believe how low cost they are with this good a sound. Behringer does it again!
pleasantly surprised
bought a few years ago and tested on an old behringer usb pre-amp at the time seemed to noisy, too much room noise, now a few years later i dug it out and this time plugged into an m-audio solo pre-amp with level at three quarters and no noise at all just clearly defined warm vocals, i had also bought an SE electronics X1 condenser and that was too noisy i prefer the much cheaper behringer
High quality, low price
This microphone has been a great addition to my studio. I am a college student on a budget but this mic has proved a very strong asset in the budget mic world! Most budget and cheap mics come off as tinny in the high end and muddy in the low end but this mic has provided nothing but crisp highs and resonant lows. No matter what you use this mic for in your recording session, it will serve you well.
Wow!
Amazing microphone for the money. Picks up everything I need it to, sounds great on vocals, acoustic guitar, and I've got a pair of them to use for drum overheads. I love this mic.
Pull the trigger.
This mic would be a great deal at twice the list price. $. is a no brainer.
I am using this mic for solo rehearsal, a bit of streaming and recording. I might even take it to a gig.
I gave it five stars based on quality and price point.
Great sensitivity, plenty of highs, and AFFORDABLE!
If you're on the fence about this microphone, go for it.
I'm having a blast.
Bam!
Mic has its own High and is very clear. i get nothing, but compliments of the sound they hear. This is a very good mic in any atmosphere.
Great microphone, even at twice the price
Got this mic for my super cheap home studio. Could not be happier. I saw a lot of reviews complain about the noise, but by balancing the level between the interface (I'm using a TC Helicon GoVocal) and the input on my DAW I was able to completely eliminate any noise. Sound quality is really good.
This thing works great and sounds killer. I may pick up another just to have on hand.
Excellent mic for an unbelievable price.
I have a number of high end mics, but I wanted something I could just leave set up on the desktop and use for ideas and rough vocals without the worry of it getting damaged. This mic fits the bill exactly. It sounds way better than you would expect a 35 dollar mic to sound, and as my voice is quite bassy it's low cut characteristics work great with me. Also all praise to Kevin Scott and Sweetwater who handled a needed return in record time.
Really Great Sounding Mic
I bought this mic because i wanted a nice upgrade on a budget and i saw multiple reviews on this site and different sites that said this was a great sounding mic for the price. I then saw it go head to head with alot of different higher costing mics on sweet water and that sold me on this mic. I got it fast from sweet water snd the customer service was great im glad i waited till they got this mic back in and i didnt hesitate to press buy. Thanks
Just click buy!
The mic works flawlessly as it should, but that's not what I wanted to review. Really the star here is the Sweetwater customer service team. I had several questions and was pleasantly surprised when I actually got a callback and a voicemail. Really dig the personal touch and will be ordering again!
Behringer C-1 Delivers!
I needed an additional large diaphragm condenser mic, so I chose the C-1. Compared to the other large diaphragm mic I own in the same price range, it is noticeably warmer and much more solid. The C-1 is quiet and very well built. The mic included a plastic case and swivel stand. The user reviews I read were correct in their assessment and helped me to decide on purchasing the C-1. And, a dedicated sales engineer
(mine is Dan Vranic) and free shipping from Sweetwater always seal the deal. Thank you Sweetwater for another satisfying and seamless purchase.

The product performed as described. Delivery was on time and the company has all the support necessary to make purchasing effortless.
Good mics
I bought because they were on sale. ...I bought 2. Figured I'd try them. Well they make for great use as drum overheads. I couldn't tell the difference between them and my audiotechnicas...
So I'd call that a win. They're also good on vocals and acoustic guitars.
And I get no noise like others have complained about. I'm simply running them directly into my presonus 1824c.
Swiss Army Condenser
Don't let the name or price fool you, this mic delivers way above it's price point. I own a lot of mics, it's like potato chips, you can't just have one. Us home studio owner/operators somehow NEVER have enough mics. This is my goto mic when I am having a tough time find that exact sound I am looking for. I mics that cost 20x what the C1 costs and in some applications, it just sounds 20x better. Vocals, overhead on drums, room mic, acoustic guitar or on a cab, it just delivers EVERY TIME. I did a shoot out with a Aston Origin, a Neumann TLM 103, Golden Age Project FC1 MkII and the C1. Posted clips on one of the forums and the C1 came in 2nd out of 60+ Who listened and voted. I run the C1 through a CAPi v28 preamp or one of the 1073 clones like a GAP73 and the sound is crisp, clean and plenty of low end. Buy one, try it and I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed. This mic is one of Behringer's BEST products.
Behringer C-1
Excellent for bright and crisp male vocals
The Best Mic I Have
I have a this mic, a Behringer XM8500, an sE V3, and an sE V7. Of them all, the C-1 is the very best. The C-1 looks good, is noisy as can be, and I love it. It handles sibilance like a champ, which can't be said of the mics I've mentioned. Did I mention that it's noisy? I mean, it's NOISY! Somehow, though, that doesn't matter—like a car in which the speedometer doesn't work, its seats are lumpy, and the paint is fading—but it just doesn't matter; somehow, you just love the thing, despite its faults, and that's okay. After fit after fit with sibilance—no matter what I did—I dug the C-1 out of its box and gave it a go. Man, I'm so glad I did!!!
Love it!
I am an aspiring voice actor, and I chose to purchase the Behringer C-1. I really like my new microphone. I've been using it to audition and I believe it to have great recording quality.
Behringer C-1
Shocked at how good this mic is. Used them to record a trio of vocalists and could not get over the quality for the price.
HOT MIC
Great EQ response and good hi's and lo's. An all around work horse.
Totally Satisfied
This mike produces very good sound for the price. Much more realistic than the MXL 992 or Shure 58. I'm glad I got it. It is a great value for the money.
Satisfied customer
I was skeptical about dealing with an online site. Within minutes of placing my order someone called to confirm all my information. I received my order within days. I'm extremely satisfied with my products and the customer service.
great mic for recording on a budget
i use the Behringer C-1 for recording sax, acoustic guitar, and vocals in my home studio. it is plenty sensitive, and can pick up people talking in another room, even with the door of the studio closed. i have received compliments on the sound quality of the tracks recorded with this mic, and people are amazed that such a quality mic is available at such a reasonable price.
Great mic
I checked it out against a Shure KSM27. I can tell no difference in tone. You could take a paint brush and put it in ten different hands but it doesn't always net the same result. The same with musical equipment. A more expensive mic doesn't always mean a better recording, it is the operator of the tool. This same knowledge applies to all musical gear. Your welcome!
Good mic for a good price
This mic was much better than anticipated. I"ve used it for solo projects as well as groups. Thought I"d need to push it for clarity, but it"s not necessary. Good tone, warm feel, you can"t lose.
Great Microphone
Works great ! Sweetwater is the best thanks!

Great mic
I have 2 of these mics now, for the price they are unbeatable, they are very rugged and handle lots of SPL even though it only has a medium size diaphragm it is quite responsive for a mic in its price range. I have used it on guitars and bass even toms, but the shocker is my singer will not leave me pull any other mic from my locker for him to use on record day, this mic does a great job. I highly recommend this mic as a general-purpose mic whatever your needs are. and at $ bucks get a couple you will not regret it.
It’s Good For the Price
It's not a bad microphone, just a bit on the noisy side. This was the first studio condenser microphone that I bought (apart from getting one of those cheap Neewer ones off Amazon as a joke). I respect the price point of this microphone, and you can actually do a lot of good things with it.
That being said, the noise floor can sometimes bring in some issues. I don't know exactly how many db the noise floor is, but it's far noisier than the AT2020 at 20db (which I still occasionally have noise issues with). If you're just learning how to mix audio, this can prove to be a challenge. That also being said, if you learn to mix with a noisy mic, when you upgrade to better mics in the future it will feel like a dream.
As a musician and mix engineer, for the price, I'd still recommend it. If you're a podcaster that has a well-treated room, I recommend it even more so. However, if you have a bit more to spend for music purposes, check out the MXL 770. It's a STEAL of a mic for the price.
Good value
Very good for the price. In my opinion this mic does well for a budget home studio or a first microphone. I use it primarily on vocals and acoustic guitar. I have used it to record a minimal drum setup also with this mic out front and 1 or 2 overheads. Bang for your buck, nothing amazing but good.
Behringer C-1
This is a good mic, I highly recommend this especially for singer song writers and beginners its a great mic to start out with at a great price The sales team at Sweetwater are amazing kudo's to Corey and his staff..
A Great Mic
Get this mic you"re gonna Like it.
But be gentle with the wire mesh
It"s not mean to be banged against your desktop. It"s not flimsy at ALL but softer than other a lot more Expensive Mics.
I"ve always liked the C1 especially for Vocals and for Miking my amp. it has a warm and Neutral Sound. Kudos to Behringer for such a great product at such an incredible price
And my Thanks And Gratitude goes to Sweetwater"s Excellent Service Fast Shipping, Supportive and Friendly Staff
And Thanks to my Rep Tad Shaffer.
First Condenser Mic
I bought this mic for recording vocals on a budget. I have used USB mics in the past (Audio Technica) and in all honesty, I cannot tell a difference. Simply want to give a condenser mic a try. May have to spend a little more if I want to see a noticeable difference?
Mike
I wish it had a standard holder like my shure one does but I live with it
Good Mic. Great Price1
I bought this mic for my home studio. I've used it for recording a internet radio show. I was surprised at how great it sounds. I work in the basement and it picked my kids laughing...upstairs! It works great with the Presonus audio interface. This mic is a good buy if your on a budget.
Best Mic For Price
My Expectations Out Of This Mic Were Very Low But When I Used It With My Saffire Pro 40 It Sounded Equal To The Quality Of My Blue Spark. This Is A Great Mic For The Price That Is Offered.
Good for starting out?
For me, the C-1 sounds a bit mid-range heavy compared to other, slightly more expensive mics (such as certain AKG condenser mics) - the others tend to sound more open, warmer. Personally, I'd rather pay a bit more for the improved sound, rather than settling for the sound of the C-1. Having said that, a lot of people seem to like the C-1. So I'd say try it along with similarly priced mics and see which one you prefer.
Quite A Suprise
I purchased this mic on a trial basis and it did many things well in my small studio on it's first session.I decided that it was a keeper. For the price, this is a quiet microphone, and that was my main concern when I was using it for the first time.I placed it above my right shoulder to record acoustic guitars and it did the job.Vocals were captured nicely without too much EQ.Positioning was the key for good sound, not the console.Eq so much.A very nice extra mic to have handy.I will not compare to any of my other Mics, but you get a nice product at a crazy low price.
Piece of crap
I used mine for a grand total of four hours. I used it very gently and always kept it in it's case when I wasn't using it. Guess what? A tiny little bump and the grill snapped off, and so did the cheap flimsy piece of plastic holding the diaphragm. The only reason I didn't give it one star is because it sounded okay, not great but okay. If you want something that will actually last for a little while, just get a Presonus M7. Better sound quality, and you get a bag and 10' mic cable too.
No Gain - Lots Of Pain
I purchased the microphone several months ago for $49. Plugged it into my Behringer UMC204, recording with Logic Pro 10.7 and....crickets. Had to turn the gain up so much that all it did was hum and cause a feedback loop. Now I don't even use it. Total waste of money.
