TC Electronic Bucket Brigade Analog Delay Pedal Reviews
Constructed as an alternative to those bulky and cumbersome tape delay units of yesteryear, bucket-brigade delay circuits make it possible to put the sound of an analog delay at your feet. Fast-forward a half century later, and TC Electronics continues this tradition with the Bucket Brigade analog delay pedal, packing the trademark tone of BBD delays into a budget-friendly stompbox. The Delay control offers up to 600ms of delay time on tap, with a Feedback switch to dial in the frequency of full-bodied echoes that follow. Flip on the center Mod switch, and a lush chorus effect adds gorgeous warbles and washiness to your tone; meanwhile, a Depth knob adjusts the intensity, and an internal trim pot tweaks modulation rate. Sweetwater guitarists always appreciate top-mounted jacks for easy integration into any setup, with true-bypass operation sweetening the pot for perfect signal integrity at all times. Capture the trademark sound of a BBD delay at a great price with the TC Electronic Bucket Brigade analog delay pedal!

Simple, quiet analog sound
As a low cost, basic delay, it's hard to beat. The modulation is excellent and eliminates the need for an additional chorus pedal. I'm sure tone snobs will complain, but if you are looking for a great two in one, this is the pedal.
Yes good
It works really well as a delay, it was smaller than I thought it was though. You can get some crazy feedback sounds from this pedal, it works well for just guitar playing and also for noise stuff.
Great delay
Very nice delay doesn't muddy your tone like some delays do.
Modulation is very nice works great with my other delays on a two amp system
TC Electronic Bucket Brigade
This is an awesome pedal for the money!
Sweet and Affordable Little BB Analog Delay
Really nice darker delay with just a hint of modulation. There's no tap tempo, but you can dial in slap back to around 600 ms. It's true bypass when off and it worked nicely in my amp's buffered effects loop. I didn't notice any coloration or degradation on the direct signal, though the delays are on the darker side. It seems rugged and the controls are smooth and substantial. Surprisingly nice for the price! Check out the online demos to hear it. Everybody needs a BB delay!
Hard to beat considering the price.
Really decent classic-sounding analog delay, with the added ability of some subtle modulation.
Surprisingly small footprint, and yet just large enough for top-mounted jacks.
Hard to find anything to criticize, especially for a unit in this price range.
Very sweet sounding delay
Quite nice , i was impressed . Smooth and pretty sounding . No sterile repeats here. Nice delay range , seems very well built . Havnt used the mod function but prefer to use separate pedal for that . Just bought another ! Thanks Robby !
Great Item
Well made and works great. It is a keeper for me.

Carbon Copy Alternative
Voiced similar to the MXR Carbon Copy, dark and smooth with very little audible clock noise. This is more of an atmospheric echo that envelops your sound, not necessarily the best choice for syncopated repeats. I would have liked to turn the echo up a little louder. Does not have enough repeats to self oscillate at max delay time. A reviewer here said it removed high and low frequencies from their instrument. I did not hear that, and I listened critically with the mix at zero. I'm using it with a Telecaster. The older (larger) version of the skysurfer reverb did have that problem. This is probably the least expensive analog delay that is suitable for studio use. A big step up from the plastic Behringer analog delay
For the price it can’t be beat
I needed a very simple analog delay to play around parallel connections with a TC Flashback.
Pros: Analog, cheap, small/compact, comes with modulation, simple to use
Cons: Even with the MOD turned off, the delays still get modulated especially when the feedback is past 12o'clock; the in/out jacks are too close to each other that only straight or very slim angled patch cable will work with certain power cables (the power in is on top between the in/out). If the feedback is to the left of 12o'clock, the delays fade out very quickly, but when you increase the feedback for longer delay trails, then there's modulation
Needs Improvement
I just got this pedal and it deffinately removes the top and bottom frequencies of my instrument when its turned on. Even with the delay volume turned all the way down. It's Sweetwater add says- True bypass operation mantains your signal integrity whether on or off. The Sweetwater tech i spoke to said this should be expected from a TC Electronic pedal for 69$ (and for all Sound Tribe and Behringer products) but i dissagree. My other pedals maintain the original sound no problem. I had to pay return shipping. I assumed it was so cheap because its a half size tiny pedal with a very simple single analog delay circuit made by a huge company. But the tech said its actually analog=vintage sound=crappy quality, which I also disagree with.
Yeah...Look Somewhere Else
So, does it make sound and sound like it does something with delaying the instrument you plug into it? Yes. It now qualifies as a delay pedal...so...good job! I've never made a delay pedal, so TC Electronic is now one up on me.
The bad news, it is the least intuitive pedal I've ever used. It is really difficult to get sounds that you want to use. It loves floating off into some crazy feedback thing. Oddly, the feedback land that it regularly visits is actually quite musical. It could almost be an instrument in itself...except it is on the floor. This pedal is kinda fun, but it just isn't that useful on a pedalboard. I'd love to throw it on a synth and see what kind of crazy stuff I could make it do. If you're doing the noise rock thing, this might be up your alley. If you're in the studio and trying to just add some crazy color to a song, this might be fun. It just make a very good delay pedal. I should have brought the Flashback.
Didn't work out of the box bad build quality
I was excited to get a bargain for just a basic quick slap delay but was extremely disappointed when it arrived. Was packaged well but does not seem to be road worthy. Unboxed the pedal and got it hooked up to the power supply and the LED light worked and that was it. No effect, no matter what the knobs were set on. This obviously did not make the trip through shipping, no damage to the packaging whatsoever. Would not recommend this pedal due to poor durability. I guess the old saying is true, you get what you pay for. On a side note one of the reviewers on this pedal on youtube did have an intermittent thump with the same pedal. Don't waste your money trying to save a buck.
