Shure Beta 87C
Shure Beta 87C Reviews
Tailor-made for vocals, the Shure Beta 87C brings studio-quality sound to your live performances. The warm, natural sound of this handheld microphone lends a sublime sheen to your voice, while its cardioid polar pattern ensures maximum isolation. Benefit from negligible off-axis coloration, while an integrated 3-stage pop filter stops breath noise in its tracks. The Beta 87C includes a break-resistant stand adapter, a mic clip, and a carrying pouch.
New for
Microphone 87c
I have had a shure am 58 for over 40 years and it has served me well with no problems the foam screens inside began to dry rot so I was looking for a new replacement I liked what I was reading about the shure sm 87c so I purchased it it is much lighter than the 58 the sound is very smooth and warm high and low and all in between very nice Mike this is now my go to Mike I love it would buy again
Time tested
I purchased my first Beta 87 in 2001. Toured and giged with it up until now. This mic has stood the test of time and withstood the riggers of life on the road. I instantly fell in love with the detail and clarity of the Beta 87 it really lets your vocal cut through the mix and allows you to hear your vocals clearly. My trusty 22 year old mic, although a little Roadworn, still works but I love it so much I had to buy another one. So here's to the next 20 plus years.
Works fine
I needed a micro phone that I could "wander" some while playing a show. Looking down at the music, at another picker, at the audience all while I was singing. With my Shure 58 the sound would fade in and out as I moved. This Shure Beta 87C seems to keep the volume consistent even as I turn my head. I have also been told the sound of my voice is much clearer and fuller with this new microphone.
So it's doing what I needed and finding it on sale at Sweetwater makes it even nicer.
SHURE BETA 87C
I have waited for several months to review the 87C because it takes getting used to. It is the clearest handheld that I have ever used. It cuts through loud guitars and drums so you can actually hear yourself in the mix without having to stand right next to your wedge. Again, I will say; it is very clear. When I say that, I mean what you hear coming out of the speakers is your voice...the good notes and the bad ones. So, if you need to hide your voice in the mix, then stick with your SM58...LOL.
Love this mic!
I borrowed a Sure Beta 87-A from the venue that I work at to see how it sounded. I worked with it for about a month and liked it. I was considering buying on when I noticed that there was a Sure Beta 87-cC available for the same price. I really liked what I was reading in the specs of the mic. I decided to order it to try it out. Sweetwater has a great returns policy if a customer is not satisfied with their purchase. I received the mic a few days later. I worked with it for a couple of days. It had all the characteristics that I liked about the 87-A, but it had a much smoother response in the highs and the lows. The 87-C is now my main mic. I like better every time I use it.

Shure 87C Mirophones
I have purchased two Shure 87C microphones. Both have arrived quickly and safely. They have been a noticeable improvement to our worship team leaders and congregation. My support with Sweetwater has been very good, I could not hope for better and I look forward to their team helping me in the future with needs as they arise.
there's nothing Beta
This is my second Beta 87. I purchased my first Beta 87A back in 2001. I was blown away by the clarity and definition this mic delivers. I still have, and use, the original but decided to buy a new one. For studio quality live vocals there really is nothing better.
Great Mic
Everything I expect from a Shure mic! It is perfect for our application...in ear monitors with a drum set on stage. Awesome clarity, with all the gain before feedback you should ever need. Let the mic do the wotk!
Shute Beta 87C
What can I say other than fantastic microphone. But that's Shure for you first class products. Oh yea and let me tell you about Sweetwater these guys are rockin it. Best service in the music industry.
Seriously enhanced vocals...
Good one
Excellent response to low frequencies and very sweet sound, recommend to thin voices. With my voice does an excellent job
Beta 87C
much better sound over my 58 and 57 mics. I still however like my Heil mic for harp and certain genres of songs over the 87C.
Excellent Mic
An excellent microphone for studio and live vocal use. Great upper mid range response and presence without thinning out vocals.
High quality vocal mic
Appreciate the excellent recommendation by Sweetwater of the Shure Beta 87C mic. It gives crisp, clear sound without distortion. Perfect for the contemporary worship services at church. Very reasonable price for the product.
Shure Beta 87C
Good, clear, and pure sound, allows smooth transitoin to upper voice.
Always reliable
I love the Beta 87 series of mics. The tone quality and eq is very easy to work with. I prefer the 87A to the 87C in general, but when working with stand mics and guitar players, the 87C works better because it's not as tight a cardiod pattern. There is too much drop off in the 87A when a singer moves their head with keeping the mic directly in front. The 87C handles the head swing much better. Can't run the monitors as loud with the C, but I'm in a confined space and don't need them loud .
Affordable and higher quality sound than the SM58 (have never tried the Beta 58).
Smooth and Warm
I use this mic live. I would classify it's sound as even/smooth. Slight proximity effect when within an 1-2 inches, but in no way unpleasant. Presesnce boost is slight ( My ears tell me at around 3-7 khz). I find that the Neumann KSM 105 and the Beta 87C are very similar in response. The only differences I find between them is that the 87C sounds a bit more defused, or a tad less focused, especially on the top in comparison. Where as the KSM 105 has a very focused top and a fatter sound when "eating" the mic" Note: The 87C sounds nothing like the Beta 87A. I find the "A" version mic to have a shrill sound with no warmth. This is an all around great mic.
Smooth and Honest!
great in house mic
I've been using this mic for over a year now and i can say that this mic really sounds great, from all the soft spoken to the screaming and everything in between. I recorded my vocals in my bedroom with street noise yelling kids and a furnace running and it didn't pick any of that up, just my vocal so i would recomend this for those who need to isolate outside noise in the house. My only issue it that i had to by a foam cover for extra protection against the pops because the internal foam only does so much.
well built all metal construction.
