Behringer System 15 Complete Eurorack Modular Synthesizer Reviews

Complete Eurorack Modular Synthesizer with 16 Modules, MIDI-to-CV Converter, and Eurorack Go Case

A historically accurate interpretation of a legendary 1970s modular synth, the Behringer System 15 is teeming with vintage vibe. With 16 discrete all-analog modules, this power-packed Eurorack system has everything you need to craft authentic old-school synth tones. It features a staggering collection of oscillators, filters, amplifiers, and noise sources — plus all the necessary utilities. On top of that, it’s housed in a Behringer Eurorack Go Case, and it includes enough built-in power to supply the whole system with some juice to spare! With the Behringer System 15, it’s now possible for vintage modular synth lovers — which includes many of us at Sweetwater — to live out their wildest electronic dreams, with the additional perk of integrating these iconic tones with modern Eurorack devices!

SOUNDS GREAT BUT NO PORTAMENTO

By Mark K. from Beautiful Melbourne Florida
Music Background: Retired professional, loving life and my wife

Back in 1979 I bought my first Moog Model D, in 1980 I bought a second one (they sold for $ used in the Trad'n Times back then). I always loved the sound of those synthesizers but I truly lusted after a modular (which I could never afford).

I already took everything out of the Model 15 case and installed the modules the way I wanted them, added a third 921B audio oscillator so the stock 921 could be reserved for LFO use. Also added a Behringer 305 module so it has a cool output mixer and 1/4" outputs.

I found using wood toothpicks makes it easy to position the slide nuts exactly where you want them because they're not magnetic (like my jewelers screwdrivers are) so the nuts don't move around while you're trying to get the screws in.

The only problem with Eurorack is that it is addictive, where will it end? Never? Tons of fun. Glad I bought the Model 15 instead of the 55, I'm getting exactly what I want and the extra room in the 15's case let me jump right in adding modules.

Nothing bad to say about this synth, it's a gas!

Good Music To You!
