Fender Custom Shop Bass VI Journeyman Relic 6-string Bass Guitar - Aged Vintage White Reviews
Half bass, half guitar, and all classic Fender — the Fender Custom Shop Limited-edition Bass VI Journeyman Relic is a masterfully crafted tribute to Fender’s wild ’60s-era 6-string hybrid bass/guitar creation. From John Lennon to Jack Bruce to Robert Smith, the Bass VI has long served as a crossover point between the guitar and bass world, boasting a 30-inch scale length with an E-E tuning that sits one octave below the guitar. This instrument’s 2-piece select alder body comes with three Fender Custom Shop ’62 Jaguar pickups that deliver everything from classic Fender thump to a cutting spaghetti western rasp when you engage the “strangle” switch. Moreover, the maple neck and round-lam rosewood fingerboard’s ’60s Style Oval “C” profile is sure to be instantly familiar to both bassists and guitarists of all backgrounds. Add in a myriad of iconic and idiosyncratic Bass VI features — including a flip-up mute system and Jaguar/Jazzmaster-style floating tremolo — and the Fender Custom Shop’s Limited-edition Bass VI Journeyman Relic is a must-have musical marvel for adventurous bassists and guitarists looking to expand their sonic boundaries.

The Best of Both Worlds
If you can go for the upgrade if you're looking to have this for the rest of your life for live and or studio use. If you aren't looking for something to have long term go with the Mexican model of this. I wouldn't recommend going with the squier unless you already know you have to modify it from the way it comes. I was just personally unhappy for the most part with the squier because it was brand new in the store while I was in Sam Ash playing it as it started to fall apart on me a little. They really aren't ready to go right out of the box to me personally. This bass vi is a good investment if you plan to use it and know how to use it to your advantage. If you're seriously interested in one just ask Alex Campos my gear advisor about one. I'm personally looking to hopefully get one of these in the future. I'm really hoping these will have a 48 month no interest rate and the price will come down on these a little more as they are super expensive. If you just can't really wait I would recommend going with the Mexican model. I just personally prefer fender USA all the way for myself if I'm going to be keeping an instrument for life.
