Finally got a good virtual bass
I've been waiting for this for 20+ years. I did have a few issues though. First when installed with Waves Central the samples would fail to load. Without useful info on the error(that I could find). After a couple of hours I finally did a manual download of the samples. When I copied them over I could see that two files were missing. Second, I had to stick a flash drive in and use ready boost. Even for the SD samples. Can't blame waves for that. It's just time to upgrade ram. The amp sim and pedals are great. But I found I could get the sound I wanted by pairing with Amplitube. But, you wouldn't need to if you don't have it. The coolest feature is that you can set which strings are slapped and which are finger. And which are played open. The initial hassle was worth it. As was the price I paid. Which I way lower than similar products.
Amazing value
So to be honest, the only reason I bought this plug-in was the price. I figured if it sounded any better than the bass sounds that came with Studio One it would be worth $... After just spending a few minutes tweaking I got convincing enough sound that I no longer need to bury the bass to avoid making it obvious that the bass was sequenced instead of played. Now the bass is loud and proud in the mix. a real difference maker. A steal at ten times the price.
