Waves Bass Rider Automatic Level Plug-in Reviews
Every serious engineer needs Waves' Bass Rider plug-in. Getting great bass sound is always important, but maintaining good levels throughout your mix without affecting your tone can be a real challenge. Waves Bass Rider makes it easy. Like Waves' widely acclaimed Vocal Rider, Bass Rider is a simple, easy-to-use plug-in that automatically rides the levels of your bass track. Because Bass Rider follows the overall volume of your bass track, it still allows individual notes to sustain and decay naturally, affecting only your bass level, not its tone. That means you can shape your tone with compression, and let the Waves Bass Rider plug-in keep your levels smooth.

Incredible as always
I ordered the bass rider from guitar center over black friday and had been through: emails, phone calls and frustration from them telling me it's on "back order"...
back order for a digital download?
long story short, after months of waiting, it went on sale through sweetwater for the same price and 10 seconds later i had my code.
every single time I've made a purchase through sweetwater has been nothing short of perfect.
Naturally levelling before compression
For DI bass this plugin helps smooth out the recording. It's better to automate audio before hitting something like a compressor to level it out more naturally.
It's the first plugin I reach for when recording bass.
Excellent
Hey thanks guys for the help on bass rider and vocal rider as well. Both saves me a ton of time and it does't take out any dynamics. I am still shocked when I place it on a baseline and it rides on it's own after the initial settings. Loving loving loving it. Thanks Again
Great software.. Ask the internet.
Saves me lots of time with volume automation and gives more consistent results from bass recordings.
Works as stated, but is it really needed?
This product does what it says it will do--it works fine, in fact--but frankly I'm not so sure it really has improved my bass tracks for me, and it's just one extra step in the chain. As I use it more in different styles of music, perhaps I'll find it makes more of a difference, but for right now the time it takes (setting it up, having it write the automation, then tweaking the automation) seems to exceed the benefit it provides.
