For Acoustic Guitar and Vocals

By Sweetwater Customer from South America
Music Background: Lifetime guitar player

Add an acoustic-electric guitar, microphone, and use the included effects. If you want more volume use the line out. This is an excellent option for open mic and other impromptu performances. With stem separation and Bluetooth practice is efficient and effective.

The one practice-performance tool to take with you along with your guitar and optional microphones

By Robert from Highland, MI
Music Background: Amateur musician for decades

This is a versatile daily-use tool for many use-cases for learning popular songs: vocals, guitar (or other instrument), standard percussion or alternate percussion such as cajon. The Stem AI separation works really well, however not as perfect as some paid subscription software products. After you get comfortable with your guitar part and your vocals practiced separately, turn those Stems down and just practice against the rhythm/residual stem(s). Use the built-in rhythm for live performance or practice. The looper is a bonus.

Karaoke with the Bandbox Trio is definitely superior to searching for YouTube karaoke files. Just stream you song via Bluetooth, then dial down the vocals after you have practiced the vocals. Your "shower-car-kitchen" playlist becomes your karaoke night playlist when Stem AI eliminates the vocals. When will YouTube offer Stem AI separation in their settings? And when will Apple integrate Stem AI separation in Garageband? When will portable PA systems, mixers and products like Positive Grid Edge start to offer Stem AI separation? JBL is leading, for now.

Learning Vocals and Guitar (or other instrument) parts separately before combining them live is probably the best feature for students or honing skills for live performance. It just works better and sounds better when using Stem AI separation.

Recording via USB and listening to your solo performances is also helpful to sharpen your performance skills. You could do an adequate first pass demo recording with the Bandbox Trio, a couple of instruments and/or microphones, and Garageband.

It's a "one box" solution for practice and small venue live performance. You can "line out" your instrument, vocals, rhythm (or backing track) to a PA system for larger venues. Stem AI makes the "live backing track" a nice option for practice or performance.

Realistically, people really appreciate solo performances with just an instrument and your voice, but the Bandbox Trio really accelerates your learning curve getting you ready faster for a live performance setting.

Probably anyone who likes to sing or perform with an instrument (or both) would be delighted to have the Bandbox Trio as part of their practice-performance toolkit.

I would say this could be a solid first purchase for any student of music and/or voice. The Bandbox Trio and a couple of microphones go a long way, and is the most portable option available today.
