Amplifier/Loudspeaker Isolation Riser

Clarity - get it with Auralex's GRAMMA v2 series isolation risers. You've invested time and money in finding the right gear, so take a step towards getting the clarity and definition you need, be it from your studio monitoring setup or your favorite tube guitar amplifier. Using an isolation riser decouples your sound source from its surroundings, preventing low end waves from traveling through floors and walls, muddying up your sound, and masking the frequencies essential to sonic definition. Don't second guess your gear choices, get the clarity you want by putting an Auralex GRAMMA v2 isolation riser to work for you and your sound!

It works

By dcm from Alt, Ga

I was skeptical, but decided to give it a try for use in church where we are live steaming every week. I put the amp on the Baby Gramma. I heard the difference immediately. I tweaked my amp a little more and it sounds great. The decoupling got rid of the room boom, allows the cabinet to resonate without interference. Drummers have floating mounts to minimize resonant interference, this does the same for amps. Good job Auralex

Worth the Money

By T. W. from Kalamazoo, MI

I purchased the Baby GRAMMA V2 to use under my Ampeg 1x 12 cabinet, and it worked perfectly. Without the riser the cab rattled the door and window in my studio space. Now the are quiet, and the bottom end of the cabinet is tighter. I have V1 and V2 of various GRAMMAs under all of my amps. The are far superior to putting the amp on a chair or tilt stand. While both of those help, the Auralex Risers definately improve the sound and are easy to transport.

Unexpected Level Of Improvement

By James W. from Napa, CA

I've used them for Bass guitar cabs for years and they are sort of a secret weapon in "non concrete" floor situations. In this case, I have some Genelec 1037C's I put on a folded towel on the (wood beam) floor and needed something more permanent for listening. These were the perfect size and fulfilled the function of getting it off the floor (and the towel). But wow - the improved mid-bass through the lower range was incredible. Far more articulate. Another thing they did which was unexpected is they seemed to have the effect of "moving the speakers closer." For price and functionality these can't be beat.

Baby Gramma

Works great to reduce or eliminate that awful stage coupling. I use it under my Bose B1 speakers and it fits just right. Really improves the overall sound quality.

One man’s ceiling is another man’s floor…

By Laurence

It never fails to surprise me that folks fail to recognize that, just like their guitars, amplifiers are resonant objects. The louder they get the more resonant they become. If the floor has its own resonant qualities - hardwood for example - the sonic situation simply becomes more complex with the resonant surface on which the amp sits adding its own vibratory qualities to the mix.

Enter the Auralex GRAMMA series of isolating risers. I own several of the Auralex GRAMMAs, not only for use under my guitar amplifiers, but also for my stereo subwoofers and speakers. Am I being obsessive compulsive about my tone? Many would quite probably say yes, but I can hear the difference. With the Auralex GRAMMAs in place I can hear the true sound of my amps and my stereo.

I"ve spent a fair bit of money on high quality equipment. Why not insure that their true voice is heard from the beginning to the end of the signal chain? I think if you give an Auralex GRAMMA a shot your ears will discern the difference.

Sensible Size and Value

By Fully from Now in Palm Desert

I already have the larger Auralex GRAMMA model; but, I needed another isolation riser. When I noticed that Sweetwater also had the Auralex BabyGRAMMA v2 Isolation Riser in Stock, I new that smaller model was going to meet my needs exactly. It does the job as well as the bigger model; but, for the smaller amps I use often in my home recording activities, the BabyGRAMMA v2 is perfect. The only reason I gave it a 4.5 Star rating is because the handle isn't as sturdy as the larger Auralex GRAMMA model's handle. Nevertheless, the smaller isolation riser size is sensible, practical, and a great value. Yes, Sweetwater shipped my order promptly and it arrived in perfect condition.

BabyGRAMMA

By Sweetwater Customer

I'm using this for my subwoofer, which sits in the corner. Previously I tried using sorbothane feet that I attached to the removable feet for the subwoofer. On a carpeted wooden floor on the second floor, the GRAMMA works great in isolating the bass frequencies (low and mid-bass) from the floor.

Very pleased w/ the purchase and Sweetwater packaged the produce nicely and shipped quickly.

Amazing

By Old B. from Bellefonte. Pa.
Music Background: Weekend Warrior Bass Player

Thought I'd give this riser a try after reading the reviews. I play through an Ampeg MicroVR- SVT210AV rig. This riser was the perfect size for this rig. It arrived the same day our band had practice. Everyone noticed an immediate difference. The bass had more punch and clarity. I actually had to turn down the gain and master volume. I was so impressed I ordered another one for my other SVT210AV cab I use when playing large venues and outdoor gigs. I'd recommend this riser to anyone playing bass through this or a similar sized bass rig.

Baby Gramma 2

By Digalev
Music Background: Old Ambient/New Age Road Dog

On a small space wood floor, this is a great bit to have. Stops the buzz that was audible to the audience.
I do not play large venues so no comment as to effectiveness with higher volumes but I would imagine it to be helpful there too.

Size is spot on for most 12 inch monitors/amps. Nice too as I can fit it into my hard case giving the Stage 2 or Motif a bit more protection.

Great for double bass in apartment

By DW from Houston
Music Background: Community orchestra, etc... and etc...

Does just what I expected. Part of the problem with practicing double bass in an apartment is that the end pin on the floor turns the floor into part of the instrument. Not so great for the downstairs neighbors. Well, not so great unless your downstairs neighbors are really fans of the double bass. Anyway, putting the end pin on the center of the Auralex does inhibit this effect. Of course, you'll still need a practice mute, and maybe some other modifications, but this'll get you a long way toward a usable solution.
