Aged Brass Guitar Slide with Ball Tip - Small

Ariel Posen is renowned for his wicked slide playing, so you know that his Signature Rock Slide has got to be a top performer. This brass guitar slide’s extended length ensures full string coverage, while its tapered interior maintains a snug feel all the way down your finger. Its thin walls reduce weight and won't slow you down when playing. Preserve finger bendability and avoid pinching, thanks to a cutaway at the second knuckle. The Ariel Posen Signature Rock Slide’s lap/pedal steel–inspired ball tip maximizes sustain and gives you both longer and shorter playing surfaces. The guitarists at Sweetwater appreciate the comfort and playability of this slide.

My slide for life

By Josh T. from Belvedere, CA
Music Background: Pro lead guitarist

This is an absolute killer slide. I have long thin fingers and this one fits snugly over my ring finger so that I can whip the slide up and down the neck without the tone-killing waggle that every other slide I have ever owned was heir to. Has a nice raspy sound but not too raspy. I own the polished version of this slide as well, and to me the aged brass sounds and feels better. Polished slides are too slippery for me. This one digs in where I need it to.

Helped me fall in love with playing slide

By David from GA
Music Background: Worship Leader

I own lots of slides in lots of different materials. This is my second Ariel Posen signature slide and my third Rock Slide. I now know that part of my frustrations with learning to play slide were having the wrong size. This slide fits perfectly and I like the weight. The aging effect looks great. The picture may look like the aging creates texture, but mine is as smooth as any other slide.

The brass rock slide

By Jeff from Oregon
Music Background: Solo basement band

It's nice. It delivers like it says. Very light, very responsive. I thought it might have that brittle, edgy metallic sound (nothing wrong with that; definitely has it's place), but it has more warm and sustain that you'd expect. Plus, it's very light and agile, makes m rudimentary slide skills a bit more adept. It does make a difference.

Thanks to Zack for all his help. He helps point me in the right direction.

Rock Slide Aged Ariel Posen

By Marylou from Massachusetts
Music Background: Early country blues and slide, banjo, mandolin ukulele and dulcimer player

I must say I'm very happy with my purchase of this rock slide. I have one similar to this except it is open on each end. This particular slide is lighter weight and the rounded top make such a difference in being able to get notes on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd strings separately as well as clean and keep the base notes open.

Thank you Sweetwater great service with a little gift for the sweet tooth.

Worth the extra cost

By scott k. from MA
Music Background: non pro experienced

There is this thing about diminishing returns. You can debate whether a $2000 strat is worth the extra cost vs a $800 mexican or $400 squier. In this case, it seems to be a superior product, and you might be paying double the price of a basic metal slide... Weighted rounded end seems a good idea. Tapered interior means most people wont need any adjustment for a snug fit. The "aged" slide looks cool. Can say about the other RockSlide models but this one is a keeper. One star off because it might not fit you but thats the case with any slide.

I was a little skeptical at first

By Tony from Kansas City
Music Background: professional musician, session guitarist

I've tried just about every slide available and I can say this one is probably my favorite. At first it seemed a little too thin and didn't quite feel like a 100% solid fit around my pinky, but after getting used to it I'm really happy with it. The rounded top is a little thing that makes a big difference. It's hard to explain why exactly, but use one and you'll see what I'm talking about.

My one complaint is for either Sweetwater or whoever is in charge of the product presentation for this slide. In the photos, it looks like there is a rough edge that's protruding from the slide right where you would put it on the strings. I kept looking at the photos thinking, "That's not smooth, what the heck?" I eventually decided to just order one and find out. Fortunately it doesn't actually have that weld joint looking thing on it. Just the example in the photos does for whatever reason.

New Favorite Slide

By Blake R. from Valparaiso, IN

Awesome Slide! Fits nicely on my little finger, feels nice, super lightweight which makes it a very fast and precise slide. It feels like a natural extension of my finger, and the ball tip makes playing single strings very easy. Absolutely recommend!
