Marvelous
This is better than I expected, the limiter itself is of course excellent, but so is the controller. Looks a lot nicer than it does in pics/vids, has some weight to it, nice "sticky" feet stays where it's put on the desk, great quality. The limiter itself is worth the fee, but to get a nice controller with it is a great bonus.
Fantastic Mastering Tool
I have a "full suite" of TC Electronics hardware controllers (in the TC powered "rack" unit) and the Brickwall HD is a real gem for Mastering. It is my 100% 'go to' as the final step in the processing chain just ahead of a final VU meter plugin I put on there. It's transparent and simply "does the job". The possible pre-sets it has are great, or you can tweak to your heart's content. I just about never have to open the virtual plug-in for anything after the original initial set-up....... it is all right there on the hardware controller for a working session.
The controller itself is very solidly built, and does not feel like a plastic-y toy. The various functions are easy to see and to select. It would work just fine as a single stand-alone unit on a desk, I think, but when put into the rack unit, the whole overall assembly is solid as a brick on the desk. Setup is simple, and the presence of the unit unlocks the plug-in license almost instantly without any work on the user's part.
I also have to say that having hardware controllers for all the things that the TC stuff does in general is REALLY nice. It gets you to use ears more than eyes.
