All my equipment deserves respect. The Scarlett has balanced outputs. The Mackie Mix8 has balanced inputs. 'Nuff said. Elaboration... The Mix8 allows me to listen to signal from the live PA (after the BBE 882i) on channels 5/6 and/or the DAW feed from the Scarlett on channels 3/4. I have a volume control for the monitors and a volume control for my headphones. There's no insert in the FOH outputs of digital recorders or professional mixers that allow for monitoring the 882i or inserting it, so the final stage Mackie creates a tap point. "What?" lol
