Decent Quality Shure Set with Handheld and Lavalier

By Bleppo1 from Arizona
Music Background: Intermediate, some performing experience

I have purchased a number of these sets for my organization. They work well and a lot better as far as noise isolation vs some of the cheaper brands we have bought and tried. With one cheaper one (about half the price) we seemed to get an occasional pop or crackle. With the Shure, nothing and it works great. With this one, it may be my imagination, but it seemed to pick up a lot more of hand noise with the handheld. The lavalier worked fine and the trick is to get people not to try and do their own adjustments, which is annoying and many do. The lav mic has to be about 5 to 6" below the chin. I have had people think it was too loud and move it down 14 or 15 inches..on their belly.. So, with correct adjustment and not rolling the darn mic in their hands (which contributes to mic noise that is not the fault of the microphone) like some nervous ninny, they work great. I usually test the voltage on the batteries that come with it just in case. Otherwise, I recommend this set. I have not tried the Sennheisers but I hear that they are a step hight on the quality level. e. And in a mic stand no issues at all with the handheld. No interference and it hunts for the best signal frequency so that is very cool. I would buy one again. Just one comment back to Shure...insolate the hand held more so that the mic does not pick up as much handling noise from the fidgety people..ha!
