lots of fun and tons of sounds
This software has lots of good amps and sounds and is easy to use. I've got the mobile and desktop versions and both sound really great.
First time using a vst
Very happy with positive grid, I thought it was easy to install and set up has more combination sounds than I first thought. I had lots of fun going to on line pedalboard and get a few presets. Very very pleased
Sounds amazing!
Easy to use, endless possibilities! Best of all no sea of cables and pedals. Looper works great and works with Studio one pro! Well worth the money for any level of playing skill.
Greatest guitar software ever!
I recorded some tracks with Bias FX2 and sent a rough mix of a song to three friends. Each one said that it sounded polished and studio quality. One friend even said it sounded as if I went from garage quality to studio quality overnight. Guitar match and amp match are exceptional components. Sounds are amazing. I have the prs supermodels, guitar rig 5, gtr3, overlord the. I've used scuffman maps and various hardware i.e. pod kidney bean, digitech pedels etc. But the best tones come from bias fx 2. It is by far my favorite ever and it's fun to use by golly.
Absolutely stunning!
This pack is totally awesome, especially new guitar simulations (which none of other plugins offer). One thing I found is it even doesn't matter which of my cables I'm using (I've got some cheap and some more expensive) with the simulation on - it sounds the same on both of them. The coolest thing is to simulate the active pickups with my guitar which has a passive pickups. Very well done Positive Grid!
Bias FX takes over
Bias FX 2 has completely replaced all amp/fx hardware that I have used in the past.
This is the ultimate pack. It's got everything you need to build and deliver amazing sound.
Best guitar plug-in
I really, really like this plugin, It sounds reailly good for me。Although it still has some bugs, I believe they will be fixed in the future.Love it !
Modeling sure has come a long way
Strong stuff. It's my main practice rig, and more and more it's becoming my main recording rig. I got a Behringer FCB1010 to manage the pedal switching, so at this point it operates more or less like a headrush type rig. I'm running it on a laptop in reaper, but I also run the standalone app.
Love it! There's a free demo if you're curious.
Total Game Changer
I"ve been using guitar amp modeling plugins since Pod Farm and Guitar Rig v1, and have tried pretty much everything on the market ever since. Bias FX 2 is hands down, my favorite plugin and has become an essential part of my songwriting and recording process. The amps and effects are top notch, the sound quality is incredible, and in my opinion; are the best available today. I"ve been so happy with Positive Grid as a company, that I"ve ended up buying Bias Amp 2 as well as a Bias Head.
Too much latency, artificial sounds,
My pc is more than powerful enough for this program and other amp sims but despite troubleshooting with my audio interface's tech support and ensuring I was using the correct ASIO4all drivers I just couldn't remove the latency from playback. Terrible feeling compared to even a basic solid state amp.
It may sound good in recordings but I bought this to be able to use as a practice rig standalone and in cubase. Not impressed and the sound quality often sounds artificial in a bad way. You can get some decent drowned out reverb/delay lead sounds but it's mostly marketing hype. I wish I bought the basic version but I was convinced by the number of youtubers reviewing it... Pretty sure Positive Grid paid off many of them.
Sounds Great! but impossible to use because:
Every time you open an instance of BIAS FX2 in Cubase Pro you have to log into Positive Grid and enter your username and password. Even if you started a project with Bias FX2 and have opened it and programed it, you still have to enter your username and password and login to open it in the same project the next day.
I have contacted PG several times and each time they've given me several ways to fix it, but none of them have worked. I've been going through this for 2 years now and at this point I have to say "stay away from this product!"
If they do send me a solution that works I'll update this review.
Totally disappointed
I've been home recording and building home studios for more than 15 years and have always found great value in guitar emulation software to offset having massive amounts of amps, mics and equipment. After many years I decided to finally try something other than Guitar Rig (which I highly recommend). The videos and reviews of Bias FX all seemed great, but after connecting to my brand new SSL2 Audio Interface and trying the Bias FX presets I was completely let down by what I can only classify as a buggy interface and generic, awful EQ sounding guitar. The best example is to say it reminded me of my Zoom FX peddle from the 90s. I hate to be negative, but after a month of trying to like this product I just can't. If you're set on getting something similar I'd strongly encourage getting Guitar Rig instead.
Regret
Regret buying this wish I could return. hard to get any kind of good tone it all seems dull and tiny I've allways used AmpliTube and thought I would give it a try because of all the wonderful reviews, even from guitar world, Well no sorry but not great.
Sounds Terrible
I had high expectations for this plugin. Unfortunately, this thing is a huge letdown. The presets are really bad, way over the top as far as the effects go, and they all share the same boxy, artificial, unrealistic sound with little character. Everything sounds like it's buried under a bunch of blankets. I tweaked the heck out of the settings but couldn't come up with anything close to what a real-life amplifier is supposed to sound like. My IK Multmedia Amplitube and Scuffham Amps S-Gear plugins blow this thing out of the water.
