Prevent moisture build-up with a BG A31 Saxophone Mouthpiece and Neck Swab. This microfiber swab absorbs insane amounts of moisture while simultaneously cleaning the inside of your horn. All you have to do is drop the weighted string into the neck of your horn and pull the swab through a few times to prevent lasting damage to your prized instrument. BG also mentioned to saxophonists at Sweetwater that the A31 swab is safe in the washer! So, whenever your BG A31 swab needs to be cleaned, just throw it in with your other delicates.
Poor design -worthless for tenor sax
BG describes the A31 swab as being useful for all saxophones. That statement implies that they have actually tested and used this product for the intended purpose. The structure of the pull cord is a black fabric tube covering two plastic flattened rods. Because there is a break in the center of the plastic rod by design, it does not readily pass through the curvature of a Selmer tenor neck. The A32 appears to have the same microfiber swab attached to a cord with a weight which seems more appropriate for the tenor sax neck. Sweetwater doesn't allow returns on swabs so perhaps someone at BG will see this and replace my A31 with the better designed A32. I use the A30T body swab for my tenor sax which cleans the horn better than silk.
