This pedal is exactly what I was looking for to plug in 2 my stereo set up. love the auto pan sweep and other features.

need equilizer. works great as a clean tone. chorus kinda pedal. but one driven it has no value control , so its over powering over what ever you have, so need an eq to make it work!

It will absolutely not work with someone else's 9V Dc power supply. There were no user instructions enclosed with the pedal and if you don't have a smart phone there's no easy way to get those instructions. By the way you all at Sweetwater: You should put in large print on the description of this pedal that the only power supply that will work is the expensive Boss power supply. I would never recommend this pedal to any of my 5 friends. Sincerely, Bev S

This pedal sounds great and has some great options! Specifically gate mode and momentary mode. I will say that this pedal can be a bit loud when engaged and because of that I had to lower my fx loop volume because of it. I wish there was a level knob that would allow us to adjust that volume spike we get when the flanger is engaged.

Great pedal has all the sounds from an old favorite plus more. I like the momentary mode very useful when playing just add flanger when you want it. The other sounds are great you need to see for yourself very useful pedal lots of sounds and modes.If your looking for a flanger this is it compact and lots of sounds

Haven't tried it with guitar yet but it sounds great for bass. It does everything I need it to.

I added the flanger to create more interesting guitar sounds when I finger pick. I like the feature that allows me to set the tempo of the effect with my foot.

A basic flanger that covers all my needs and then some. Same old BOSS reliability, workmanship, dependability.
Works great with the Walrus Polychrome Flanger for added versatility. No noise as with the MXR flangers, subtle setting will make you think something is missing when disengaged. It is a keeper.

Works great! I bought it to use in my own songwriting/playing but mainly for playing Unchained. It's a fun pedal for me to mess around with.

This flanger sounds great. Lots of control available to shape the sound and produce a wide variety of sounds. Case seems durable.

Really versatile.
Warm sounding classic tones to wild and experimental. The momentary feature is great for playing things like VH "Unchained" where you only want the flanger on the drone and not the chords during the chorus sections.

I have been using the BF-3 for about 3 years now...so my review is not based on newness euphoria...i have the MXR Micro Flanger, Boss MD-500, Digitech Nautilus, TC Electronics Vortex, as well as an Eventide Modfactor for multiple takes on Flanging. Of all these pedals, the BF-3 is hands down the best sounding Flanger for both clean and overdriven guitar signals. The MD-500 comes close but not as full sounding as the BF-3, and the BF-3 has so much control over the sound with all the controls provided. I also prefer the BF-3 in mono output over stereo mode...the stereo output thins the flanging effect. This pedal will never come off my board...in fact i just used it for a new song i am recording...sounds awesome.

Exactly what I needed for my bass. Makes my "No Quarter" sound like I might have a chance of no one laughing at me, if I ever played in the presence of anyone.

I got my first Boss Flanger in the 1970's and just got the BF-3 for updated versatility. The Flanger adds elements of creative sound that is adjustable to the song tempo. Also, I don't know why people buy the so called "boutique" pedals (Flangers) when Boss has the years of reliability and quality. Furthermore, I find it easier to activate a Boss pedal on a pedalboard as opposed to a small single button switch pedal which is how most other pedals are designed.

A very functional flanger that blends well with multiple guitars & pedals. A great pedal to help shape your sound.

Great flanger sounds! Very tweak-able settings, with an organic sounding sweep. The "momentary" function is nice - you can hold your foot on the switch for as long as you want flanger. When you take your foot off, the effect shuts itself off...no need to stomp once for on, then again for off. This is great when you only need the effect for a few seconds in a song (which is pretty common when using a flanger). I play a lot of Tool songs and Adam Jones uses LOTS of flanger. The BF-3 gets me the perfect sweeping flanger sound for songs like Forty-Six & 2 or Pushit. This pedal is much more flexible than my previous flanger (MXR Micro flanger). The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because, like most Boss pedals, it really eats up batteries quickly. I usually use a One-Spot so it doesn't affect me, but people who use batteries in their pedals won't like that. But all in all I like it a lot...it will be the last flanger I'll ever need.

I can't say anything bad about this pedal. I don't use a ton of flange, but when I do, it has everything I need. Has a great, natural sound and a TON of settings/features. More than I need, to be honest. But I like having options. Great pedal.

This is a very nice well built unit, it give you the option to use for bass and guitar, it gives you several setting options, I bought mine for my basses, but have discovered I like this unit better for my guitars instead, dont get me wrong its nice for bass also, but have opted to go with an EBS Octobass unit for my basses, I like the sound and sound better, bit its all a matter of taste and preferences, however I still do recomend this unit fir eithier bass or guitar.

This is a very solid sounding Flange pedal! It sounds even better on bass!!! My bass uses one all the time at it really adds something unqiue and awsome!
