T-Rex Binson Echorec Magnetic Disk Delay Reviews
Ready for the ultimate Floyd-ian mindbender? If so, the T-Rex Binson Echorec stands ready to deliver. The T-Rex Echorec is a masterful reinvention of the magnetic disk echo machine famously employed by Pink Floyd on — you guessed it — "Echoes," among other tracks in the band's legendary repertoire. It also provided the secret sauce to Hank Marvin's signature guitar tone. Even John Bonham used it to craft his cavernous, levee-breaking drum sound. The T-Rex Echorec yields period-correct magnetic disk echoes, with four playback heads for maximum sonic flexibility. You also get adjustable drum speed, a "magic eye" level indicator, studio-ready balanced I/O, and connections for external speed adjustment and bypass. If you want to kick it into interstellar overdrive, the T-Rex Binson Echorec will supply you with one of the most authentic ways to do it.

Spin-tacular
A softer tone than my T-Rex Tape Delays, but a different beast to tame nonetheless. Looks amazing and a nice addition to delay fanatics.
The T-Rex Binson Echorec, a Must Have!
I love delays and have everything from a vintage Echoplex and Roland RE-201, to the new EchoFix remake. I also have a ton of analog bucket brigade delays that span several decades, like the Roland DC series, Moog, Memoryman, ect. In all that, nothing touches the vibe of the Echorec. I'm not saying better, just way different. I had never played with one prior to owning the T-Rex. The character and the way it oscillates is completely different than any delay I have. Having the ability to engage the heads independently on the fly, can be beautifully unpredictable and at times even chaotic. As a sound designer, this is a keeper.
I haven't even scratched the surface with synths and keys. I went down a rabbit hole right out of the gate and killed an hour playing just Bass VI alone. It's a Shoegazer dream and a Rockabilly must have, not to mention its potential for Dub-Reggae and Surf. I couldn't be happier.
