The width of the internal control ring varies in proportion to head diameter, giving control to larger drums and lower tunings with the EQ4.

Great batter head
Evans makes some of the nicest heads. This is a great, no-frills head; it's perfect for my vintage Rogers kit. I add printer's vinyl to go along with the included beater pad.

I got the EQ4 Batter and the EQ3 resonant for a 20" kick along with a upgrading my Kick pedal to an Iron Cobra 600, what an incredible difference for the better. I'm Very Happy with my purchase

Great sounding bass drum head
I chose the EQ4 for my Pearl Session Studio Classic 20" x 16" Kick drum. It came with a similar style Remo head on it, but I replaced the stock head with an EMAD Clear about a year later. The EMAD sounded great, but I wanted to trigger the kick and the EMAD ring prohibited mounting the trigger. The EQ4 not only lets me mount the trigger but feels and sounds better to me than the EMAD. I think the EMAD muffled the drum too much and reduced the volume significantly. The EQ4 also gives me more tuning options if I want to tighten it up a little for more tone from the drum. Very happy with the results!
