Better than you think!

By Thomas from WV on January 6, 2023 Music Background: Been a gigging bassist for decades.

I have had this pedal on my board for years and have gigged dozens of shows with it. I always get compliments on my tone. The added harmonic content that this pedal delivers, with or without the overdrive helps to fill in the overall bass guitar sound in the mix. Please consider getting one of these. It is highly underrated.

Exactly what I needed

By Jonathon Danger on February 4, 2021

Heavy fuzz with no loss of deep end or clarity. The knobs are fine, definitely not cheap or small. There is no XLR output so it can't be hot.
Love this pedal. I thought my ODB-3 was the shite till I tried this one.

Awesome

This pedal has a large variety of overdriven tones/distortion. It sounds good.

BB-1X

Hard to get a bad sound out of this. The blend control along with the bass/treble boost and cut make for a highly versatile all around pedal. Can be used for a clean boost all the way to full-on distortion. Thanks also to Aaron Hoff. Better customer service than any music store in my area.

Boss BB-1X Bass Driver

Excellent on-stage tool... Easy to operate... Have used at several gigs using both line out and output jacks with great audio results... my BCB3 pedal setup (Boss Bass Graphic EQ, Boss Bass Chorus, BB-1X), ensures me pure clean tone or Drive dirty with plenty of volume in any configuration... highly recommended for the working musician...

Love this Overdrive!

This is a great pedal. From subtle to melt your face, it can hit any tone. Super simple, hard to get a bad sound out of it. It is required pedalboard food for a bassist.

Nice in concept - a few minor issues

By Scott from Texas on December 6, 2015

At its core, this is a good pedal - meaning the tone that it delivers is just fine... in fact, quite good. With the pedal blend at full, the EQ does its job and the drive is particularly good --- generating subtle tube to full on distortion. In addition, the Line Out (DI) - assuming you have a TRS to XLR male converter - has a really nice sound through a PA system.

There are some flaws in this pedal though:

1) The knobs feel cheap. One good bump and they may well crack.
2) The distance between the "output" and line out and power is small. If you have a pancake style connector on the output on your pedalboard, all may not fit very well.
3) The XLR out is VERY HOT when the pedal is off. You have to always have this thing on or you will distort your board. It would be nice to be able to bypass this going to the board if you wanted to (IE have it act as DI only).
4) The level knob is TINY and hard to adjust unless you have small hands. Plus the pot they used makes it tough to hit the right level. For me this was about 8:30 on the dial for the volume level I needed on the board.

Other than these points, a fine pedal. If you can overlook these, I highly recommend.

Fair

It's not the MAGIC I was hoping for, but it's useful. Still getting the hang of it.
