Perfect for intended use!

By Michael W. from Citrus County, Florida
Music Background: Lifer Musician, part time now.

Bought this to put together a fast in-fast out, super light setup for small space, one hour or so quickie budget gigs. Actually has more power than needed, but couldn't go a with less bottom end solution.

Just fired it up and tested it out today. Big sound in a small package. My only product suggestion would be a handle on top for one handed carrying. I might add one myself.

Gettin' old - first thing I checked was the weight....passed. Paired this up with my little Behringer mini Xenix 802 mixer and I have "Honey I Shrunk The PA"!

Keep 'em cool!

By Sweetwater Customer

These are great in a spot PA setup. I've run 12 of them scattered around a large facility so that audio is more clear to widely scattered visitors. They're great, HOWEVER: I've lost 5 of them to a heat problem that kills the low frequency amp. The back plate gets really hot. So I'm rigging up small fans to gently (quietly) blow across the plates so they don't fry eggs (and themselves). So 5 stars on value and performance and 2 stars on thermal design.

A GREAT THING IN A SMALL PACKAGE

By Gil from San Francisco
Music Background: performer, casual producer, booking guy

I've used these speakers for.a few years, albeit probably not more than 50 times. I am thrilled by the quality and useability. I"ve used them almost exclusively for outdoor live music, and during the pandemic they powered my weekend live-bandTiny Porch Concerts over several months well enough to get dozens of people rocking (and many dancing) while safely masked. They filled the urban intersection in front of my house, audible up and down the block, with at times up to about 100 people.Sound is crisp, full, and the two EQs really respond.I am producing a dance party at an outdoor venue this month and I gave these little powerhouses a dry run. They sounded great being pushed at a very high volume, and could probably do the job to get 100 people dancing at this particular outdoor venue. But to be on the safe side I'll probably rent 12-in speakers and use these for monitors for the 10-piece band.I use them with a Behringer 1202FX mixer -- which I also loved up until this week when one of the main outs died.Hopefully it's nothing more than a wonky soldering thing that I can fix.In any case, I need a larger board for this upcoming party.

Works well as a budget FRFR solution

By NA from Massachusetts

This sounds surprisingly good with my guitar amp modeler, both for practice/setup and as a personal stage monitor. Super compact dimensions are appreciated and sounds surprisingly big. Flat and wide enough to represent a modeled Twin Reverb as well as anything else, within its volume limitations. HF/LF trim knobs are useful (necessary?) for this application and not always included at this price point.

Surprising

By Paula from WI
Music Background: Vocalist

For being a low-end monitor I was really quite pleasantly surprised at the quality, volume and adjustments available on the unit. The only caveat is that the power cord does not seem to fit snugly onto the prongs on the back of the unit. Hopefully that won't be an issue.
Kyle R. was right on the money with this recommendation. My whole band are going to purchase this item.
We are not a heavy metal band we are not a rock and roll band we play eclectic music ranging from Eric Clapton to The Beatles to Patsy Cline to Linda Ronstadt to big band music.

Created my own 3 way tower with this Behringer 2 way

By Jim from Milwaukee
Music Background: Do occasional gigs for my local ski and social club and private parties for friends

I used to drag passive speakers and a separate amp, but as I have gotten older so has the audience. They want music but at lower volumes so they can socialize. So to simplify my set up, I use a single Behringer 208D on a speaker stand, and then use my 15 inch sub for better bass. I use a Roland mono crossover to split the lows to the sub and then anything above 75 or so to the Behringer. It's mono sound, but that's how I always set up my passive speakers. It's compact, the sound is good because the sub takes the low notes and the Behringer can concentrate on its sweet spot. Plus, the speaker and cables fit into one bag, the speaker stand and cables in another, and then the sub has handles and relatively low weight (50 lbs) I made a shelf that attaches to the speaker stand so my computer or phone has a place to sit out of the way. A few cable ties and it looks professional while not taking up much space. I even have a more compact version by using an adjustable subwoofer speaker stand mated to a particle board base the same size as the subwoofer. It rests on top of the sub and looks like a single unit since the Pyle adjustable pole and the wood base is painted flat black like the carpeted subwoofer.

Works great in large, and louder venues for my solo guitar performances.

These are great little speakers that pack a punch for clarity and volume. We use these for fillers and satellites and they have always done a great job. For the money, I have been very happy with the quality.

Perfect Portable Speaker

By Danny
Music Background: Guitarist for Church

Works great for what I need it to do. I have it as a small on stage monitor for Sunday mornings and I am very happy with it. Very portable and light. The best part is that it has a small footprint on stage.

Great sound for the small size

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: Piano player and drummer

I ordered two if these for live sound for my keyboard. But I now also use them for music. The bass power is great for the size. The only problem is the power cord length.

Punches way above its (low) weight

By Menno d.

I have tried to replace this thing with an EV ZLX12P, a JBL EON 610, Turbosound Milan M10, and finally a Presonus AIR12. Amazingly, this speaker beats them all, at a much lower price.

My only problem is the lack of connectivity (just the one input, I need two), but for the price you really can't complain.

Seriously, you can't go wrong with these. Durable and affordable, easy to schlep and consistent sound.

No longer a Bherringer customer

By Robert P. from South Daytona, FL
Music Background: Professional musician.

Purchased these as live monitors for our video streaming production and was highly disappointed when one just cut out and stopped emitting sound with a constant red clipping light on in the back of the speaker. No overload or spike just quit right out of the box.

Ruined the show and the week for me. Suffice to say my days of buying Bherringer or mail ordering musical equipment are over.

Just my honest opinion.

Behringer 8

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: DJ Producer

I use this as a monitor along with one or two 12' Behringer subs when I DJ Big events and it is GREAT.
I could easily do small events with this speaker as it is incredibly loud. When you pair it with a sub it sounds AWESOME!
Don't get me wrong - I am a QSC guy all the way...own several K12's K8's and KW 181's but this thing is great too and especially when you factor in the low price. If your on a budget and need a good small rig...GET this speaker. FB - TheDJKevinSmith

Surprisingly Good

By Gary M. from Lubbock, TX
Music Background: 30+ yrs pro

I am often in need of a couple or more small powered monitors for acoustic groups and ensembles. I got tired of borrowing here and there. I figured the price on these speakers was worth giving them a try. I was pleasantly surprised at how they sounded and the ability to control the frequencies and volume.

I paired them with a couple of Turbosound Inspire IP1000's for a 5-piece acoustic group in a room that would seat about 200-250. It was more sound than I needed. In fact, I had to pull the monitors back a bit because they were putting out too much. I also had to dial down the highs a touch. After that, it worked like a charm... even after one of the little kids in the audience came by and turned off the power switch to the monitors (it was an open floor semi-dance).

Anyway, we're buying a few more for other activities. It's a great little all-around multi-use speaker that puts out a lot more clean volume than you'd expect.

Great little speakers! really serves well as a small stage monitor that's easy to transport around... the only thing that stops it from being 5 out of 5 is no built-in handle...

5 stars at a 3 star price!

By HaveMercyMissPercy from ATX

Primo investment, on every level: price is lowest, size is smallest, sound is biggest! We have used these extensively, alone (mains AND monitors) and on a pole mount sub set-up, and they excel gig after gig. Behringer has stepped their game up last few years, these powered 8" speakers work steady 24/7. We got bored on a rainy day.... A/B'd these with our studio grade JBL 8" monitors, and while they ain't that, they were amazing to use as second-opinion mix monitors. That experience made believers out every musician/engineer in the room. Great powered monitors for our electronic drum kit, too.

Love the speaker, annoying errer from narrator

By Mr. K.
Music Background: Lead guitar, vox, live sound/home studio engineer

I own a pair of these, and pound for pound, they rival speakers 3 times the price. Surprisingly, I've seen no comments about the Behringer Rep saying they have an 8-INCH COMPRESSION DRIVER!!! No offence, but someone from Behringer or the YouTube pulic should have caught the blatent error.

THEY FIT THE BILL

By Brent from Sioux City, Iowa
Music Background: 50 Years of professional playing, BFA in Music

I purchased 2 of the Behringer B208D powered speakers for our Church Praise Band. We were using some EV powered speakers, as monitors, but we had space issues. These have a very solid sound and being much smaller, we have a lot of choices for placement. Actually, we can hear ourselves much better, with the Behringers, because we can position them so close. I wouldn't use them as our mains, for a 5-piece band, in a large church, but they are great monitors, at an good price.

Great Speaker, monitor, and amp

By Bob P. from Nampa Id.
Music Background: rhythm, lead guitarist, rock, rhythm& blues, now gospel christian musician

First, I would like to thank My Sales Engineer IsRael Foster. I have bought numerous equipment from Sweetwater through him. And He is the Best. Very knowlegeable and capable .
I bought the Behringer B208D as a powered stage monitor. I found that the highs were crisp, responsive, and the bass was punchy. I liked it so much I have ordered another. The speakers are powerful enough to use in a small to medium venue.I have since use it as a practice amp, and live speaker. I recommend this speaker to anybody on a budget looking for a powered speaker that give them more than their moneys worth.

Awesome

By beau from Kentucky
Music Background: singer and local artist

This speaker really pulled through for me a few weeks ago when my main speaker went out in a packed bar of maybe 80 people. Loud drunk people! I just had this as a extra speaker to face me to hear myself when I was singing. Although this isnt meant to be used as a main thats what I had to use it for. I had a guitar, me singing and a Khon drum running through this one speaker maxed out! and it actually sounded great. I didn't get as loud as i wanted but it carried us through the whole night and everyone i asked said it sounded great. I recommend this speaker because the price and the quality to me is just as good as the better brands. It really saved my show and I was surprised how well everything sounded.

Excellent Small Speaker

By Scott L. from Richmond, KY
Music Background: Experience Soundman

Gave this speaker 5 stars not because it's the best speaker you can purchase, but because for it's price, size and features it's fantastic. Wanted to set up a small inexpensive, but nice sounding system for my wife and granddaughter to practice singing for church. This speaker paired with a Peavey P8 mixer and Behringer XM8500 mics is just what the doctor ordered. The three of us are tickled to death with the sound quality and performance of the system. We also love the fact that, if needed, we can order more Eurolive B208D's to upgrade or use them for live performances. They are interconnectable which makes it easy to run cords. Sweetwater is the company to order from! Love the free quick shipping, the follow-up emails and phone calls keeping you up to date on your order and any questions you might have. Even the packaging was great, assuring no damage to your equipment. Not to mention the package of candy as an additional perk. If the Peavey P8 would have been in stock, I would have order the whole system from Sweetwater. This company cares about their customers, it is obvious. I didn't spend $1000's, but I was treated like I did! Keep up the GREAT work Sweetwater!

Great Speakers!!!

By D. C. from Nashville Tn.
Music Background: Musician, Arranger, Recording Artist

The Eurolive B208D speakers simply can't be beat at this price. I purchased two
B208D speakers for smaller venues. I also have the EV SX 8 series passive speakers. While not in the EV league, these speakers sound very good. There is plenty of power to work a venue that seats 150 people. The key to getting a good sound is using a mixer and setting the power at 11:00. Any higher than that will induce a noticeable hum. I like them so much that I am purchasing two more! Sweetwaters 2 year warranty is also a big plus.

Awesome Keyboard Amp!!

By CD

Bought two of these for a light stereo keyboard amp setup for live thinking they would be good for small gigs. Boy was I surprised when I heard them! Plenty of power to be heard in a 4 piece band clearly without pushing them hard and the clarity is incredible. And at 14lbs each, they save the back and are a breeze to transport! Recommend them to and keyboard player looking for a small but capable amp solution. I was very impressed!

awesome speakers

By Bud H. from Pioneertown, CAlif
Music Background: Blues and Old Tyme Western

We purchased these speakers to replace an older (and very heavy) pair of 15" Peavey pa speakers and dual 500watt amp set up. The idea was to lighten up our load a little. We do an weekly outdoor cowboy action/re-enactment show and the older gear was too cumbersome and heavy to haul around. We just knew we would have to give up sound quality to accomplish this, but to our surprise the sound from these 8" speakers is even better than what we had. Thank You Sweetwater for a great product.

These little power speakers do the trick. Great clarity and plenty of power for our band. Also use them last weekend at an outdoor movie night for our youth group. Awesome. We just bought 2 more for the band for personal monitors
only drawback is the power chord is a bit too short.

Superb Little Monsta!

By Mr. A. from NC, USA
Music Background: Soundman for Local Events, Studio Musician, Producer

I am super impressed with these little speakers. I bought them with the intent to use 'em as stage monitors; but I had a wedding gig coming up, so I decided to put them to the test. The reception hall was a big size, I raised them on the poles, and it filled the room. Had a piano hooked to the sound, a few mics, and my ipod. All was good.
Pros: Super lightweights, easy setup, loud, powerfull, rich sound.
Cons: Since being so light, they easily turn position on the pole, so would be nice it they had a tightening screw at the bottom to keep them in position. But hey, that's minor, I will figure out a way to do just that. I called up a friend of mine, and gave him a recomendation; might get another pair. My system consist now of (2) B812NEO's, (2) B208D's, and (1) B1800D sub.
Now searching for the right console (since I sold my previous one)

Nice Package

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: Couple gigs a year and ProTools recording at home

Side by side against a K12. Naturally, not as loud at max volumes and not as much bass - that was expected. But for smaller gigs this will be my K12 lightweight alternative. Tested with K12 set to vocal boost and "deep" with the B208D set to high down 1/2 click and bass up 1/2 click. For gigs where the K12 are the mains, these will be my monitors.

Also at 15 lbs, I can easily setup an MP3 player into it for backyard BBQ.

work really well, size is just right.

By John W. from Clarksville, TN
Music Background: theater volunteer, Past audio pro

I bought these for monitor sidefills at a small theater here in town. They are small enough that they become almost invisible and thay sound very good. They do not require freight train audio levels so these speakers do a great job. Mounted on wall brackets they are out-of the-way and highly adequate for the intended purpose.

Great little speaker!

By Jason from Troy, AL
Music Background: Music Minister

I was pleasantly surprised with this speaker. I planned on using it as a personal floor monitor, but decided to put it through its paces to find out what it would do. While the sound quality isn't perfect, it is way better than I expected. Also, it is much louder than you would think. It was louder than my other 12" floor monitors, and only half the overall size.

But the biggest surprise was that it handled everything I threw at it (including a bass) without distorting! For low to medium volumes, this thing is truly impressive
